Gents,

It's all over.  Another successful (for some, quite terrible for others) season is in the books.  I just wanted to thank everyone for participating yet again.  Great stuff out of the new members.  You guys took over some brutal teams and did very well with them.  Some awful stuff out of some of our longstanding members.  Someone had the idiocy to keep a washed up old-timer for close to $40 and ride him to his death (who could that be??).

I do want to apologize (although maybe it was better?) for not being quite as engaged this year.  Getting tougher and tougher with the little guy around so thanks to the other 4 members of the Commissioner's Committee.  You guys stepped up and took care of a lot of stuff I missed (cough, trade deadline, cough).

Before we get into stuff for next year, just a quick recap of this year.

Your 2015 GFFL Champion was the Melrose Maniacs.  The creatively named Team Bradford took over one of the worst teams in the league and promptly built a 2nd place finisher.  Despite what Ricky Bobby thinks, Bradford will be walking away with a cool $150 for coming in "last."  And finishing in 3rd was Who is John Galt?  No, we are not playing Jeopardy.  Below is an overview of all the winnings to be paid out:

$50 x 14 Owners = $700
Champion - Johnny
$300
2nd Place - Bradford
$150
3rd Place -Joe
$50

Division Champions - Dan and Johnny

2 X $25 = $50

Best Regular Season Record - Dan

$10

Most Regular Season Points - Dan

$10

Most Points Each Week

13 weeks X $10 = $130
1 - Dan
2 - Charlie
3 - DJ
4 - DJ
5 - Charlie
6 - Marty
7 - Dan
8 - Delaney
9 - Matt
10 - Johnny
11 - Dan
12 - Joe
13 - Cody
Total: $700

Here is how much each of you personally has coming:

Johnny - $335
Bradford - $150
Dan - $75
Joe - $60
DJ - $20
Charlie - $20
Marty - $10
Delaney - $10
Matt - $10
Cody - $10
Josh - $0
Justin - $0
Jonah - $0
Mr H - $0

I'll send you all an individual text to see if you want to have it all paid out or some/all of it applied to your entry fee for next year.  There are a couple of you who actually haven't paid for this season (and one seems to be a glitch with PayPal) so you will get a note on that as well.

Speaking of entry fees for next season, it is with great sadness that I report the departure of one of our founding members.  The Montana Unabombers has decided to step away and give all of us youngsters a shot at actually acquiring a keeper or two.  Tom Harris has been snagging the best bargains every year since we started this thing and will be greatly missed.

On that note, please let me know in the next couple months if you have any inkling of not coming back yourselves.  We've talked in the past about replacing members vs. just dropping to a 12 team league.  This year, we have one departure so far and I have a replacement already lined up.  However, if we have multiples we may want to re-visit league size.

Lastly,I wanted to mention rules really quick while I still have your attention (OK, let's be honest, you probably quick reading a while ago).  It may be a good idea to take a quick peak at the league bylaws just as a refresher.  You can find all our league documents here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0Bw6XJwLaz5OyanExeW9iZ3BiZE0

Some of you have been doing some..... questionable things given those rules.  Some of you have done some..... questionable things after I've reminded you of those rules because you had already done those questionable things.  I am happily playing the role of beneficiary, but just thought I should remind everyone.  In addition to the bylaws document you can find in the folder linked above, there is a recap of new rules passed each year under the historical docs folders.  This marks the first year we haven't passed a new rule.

With that in mind, I want to propose a new rule which was one vote shy of passing for this season.  I propose the rookie draft order be based on final season standings (post-playoffs) rather than final regular season standings.  This rule would go into effect for the 2017 rookie draft since this year is complete so no impact on the upcoming rookie draft (order linked here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13KTXDiUaIcS5tJ0xoUzHrE_D_0sQ2piL6tJq0hFRafM/edit#gid=124569495).  If we had all 14 members vote unanimously to change it for this offseason we could, but I highly doubt that's the case.

That's all I have for now, be on the lookout for a text from me asking about how you want your money.  Enjoy the offseason and look forward to hounding you again in a few months about rookie drafts and keeper deadlines.

Best,
Jonah
