Gentlemen,
Hope you all are staying healthy and doing well. These are strange times and that has led to strange timing. But I've finally been able to get the pricing sheet updated (and even automated for next year!) and it's time to start the wheels in motion for a fantasy football season. While college football remains in doubt, it seems likely we'll at least have an NFL season so we're hopefully going to have some sort of normalcy in the form of fantasy this year.
With that in mind, we've got some things to take care of. First and foremost, we need to figure out if anyone is planning to leave. Please let me know ASAP if you're considering leaving the group.
Once we have a head count, we can get rolling on a rookie draft. We can do it via email again, but given everything that's going on and the fact we're all likely at home looking for something, anything, to do, we could also do a FaceTime or Zoom call and knock it out in an hour or so. You can find the draft order at the link below:
As soon as we've wrapped the rookie draft, we need to get keepers set. The deadline is currently set for July 31, but I'd propose we push that back to give everyone some additional time. Maybe August 15?
You can find the pricing list here:
Perhaps the easiest way to read that is on the 'Current Roster Pricing' tab, which has the rosters as of today with the correct pricing. The lone exception is those players added in free agency that haven't been chosen as keepers as of yet. If you need to know the price of a player that says "Input FAAB" you'll need to go to your team page on ESPN and click "Keepers". The pricing in the system is correct for free agents with the caveat that the minimum price for a player is $1.
As for the draft itself, we need to agree on a date. It is currently set for Saturday, August 29th. The NFL season is set to kick off on Thursday, September 10th so we have some time to push it back and given everything, day of the week likely doesn't mean as much as normal. I'll send out some polling once we have confirmed who is in for the year, but if you know days/times that do/don't work let me know.
It's probably not wise to try to get together unless we have a miracle vaccine in the next month, but we could certainly try the FaceTime/Zoom thing and I'm down to get together for some socially distanced driveway/backyard beverages post-draft to shoot the stuff (#dadtalk).
One final note on the draft: we've still got some league fees outstanding from last year. Have a look at the league accounting sheet below and if you owe, feel free to PayPal or Venmo me. If you don't have either of those, probably time to look into it or you may have a tough time paying for this year.
Alright, that's all I've got for now. Your to-do items: let me know 1) if you're in or out, 2) draft dates that do/don't work, 3) set keepers, 4) pay up if you owe for last year.
