Hi Alan!
Sorry to hear you're having this trouble updating the systems.
Do you see any error messages at all in the updater? And are you using any USB adapters with the Mac, or does it have built-in ports?
I figured out how to update it. You have to download the tonematch update tool and it will you to extract and compress the files first. Windows will tell you its not capable but do it anyway. It still worked for me, BUT the reason im on this thread is because it worked for me. I just wanted to add the Gibson Acoustics and be on with my day. I updated the 1.8 firmware from the tonematch update tool and it gave me all the new presets but ALL the presets I had prior to this update were deleted. I lost all the handheld mics, all drums, keyboards, etc. Now all I have is 4 presets. Taylor Guitars, Gibson Guitars, Audix mics, and LR Baggs. Which id be fine with since i play solo with a gibson with lr baggs anyway. but i want my shure mics back, and If i have a band join me I cant provide much for them. This is on the T1 Tonematch and L1 Model 2. How do I get all those original presets back???? i bet I lost 50 presets that were GOOD. And the factory reset does not bring presets back either. i tried that. so if anyone has any knowledge on this issue, feel free to drop a comment with a solution. TIA
First, on the Bose remote, hold down the Bluetooth button until you see a blue blinking light on the sound bar. This makes the sound bar discoverable by the Apple TV remote. Second, go in to settings and then select Bluetooth devices. You should now see the Bose device is now discoverable. Third, select the Bose sound bar and then exit out. Your Apple TV remote should now control the Bose sound bar.
Every time Bose TV Sound Bar shuts down, along with TV and apple TV box - all with ATV remote; the bluetooth connection is lost and must use the Bose remote to initiate bluetooth pairing and go to apple box and go through connection process - it does save the bose speaker, but always shows it as 'disconnected' - so have to reconnect each and every time. Have apple tv box located with sound bar and have tried them apart - have checked all software/firmware, reboot, power unplug etc - nothing seems to keep them connected. ANY and all suggestions on what I am missing to keep them connected is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
apple tv connected via hdmi to samsung tv. Tv speaker connected with bose 500 via cable. It wake tv and bose when i hit apple tv remote. In the past the apple tv remote controlled the bose 500 with Infrared and worked great for years. Not the remote does not work for sound and no settings changed! maybe a sw update did that??
This solution works great but it bypasses the HDMI connection and only sends 2 channel stereo to the sound bar instead of Dolby Digital 5.1 up to Atmos. Been trying to figure this out so that I only have to use 1 remote for basic audio controls. I am using a Bose Soundbar 600.
