Java7 update 51 : My application is java web start kind, in which we have addressed all the security measure in jar, JNLP files and signed the jar files with trusted authority , but Latest update is prompting user confirmation message about Publisher name every time. Message doesn't have any check box to ignore as provided with update 45 and further, so please clarify is this a normal behavior of this update or else any step required to overcome the same.
I've found that Rob's manifest entries did not do it for us... We still ended up without "Do not show this again..." check box showing under 1.7.0_51 for our app (when href= was not specified, properly signed, etc.).
But other of what Rob posted holds & that coupled with Andrew's suggestion of a full/proper manifest lead us to what worked for us. From my post to Java Web Start security dialogs with Java 7 update 51:
Assure you've JAR manifest(s) such that no Missing Blah-Blah-Blah manifest attribute msgs show in console log. The minimal additional manifest attributes for 7u51 we've found must be present (*s as test values):
I am experiencing a similar problem with my Web Start applications, but the post Java Web Start security dialogs with Java 7 update 51 prompted me to try to add this href attribute and it solved the problem. That is
As for 7.51 get ready for hell! Only fixes we have found so far is for XP uninstall all versions of java allow ADP to install 6.17 then go install 7.51 again then go into the Security tab for Java CP and edit site list and ADD the ADP site otherwise you will get errors the java runtime error seems to be caused by older versions of java so clearing the slate and allowing the 6.17 and then manually installing 7.51 seems to fix it.
java plug-in 10.51.2 not properly installed is the error that requires java to be uninstalled and allow adp to install 6.17 before installing 7.51 again, you may be able to just install 7.51 I did not take time to test that scenario but it may work.
We have a new installed system containing the components as you can see in the attached screenshot. Uploading the system data to support portal via solution manager worked fine. But maintenance planer doesent give us a option to upgrade the netweaver component.
SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.51 Innovation Package is not a full SAP NetWeaver release.
It contains innovations for the ABAP stack, but does not contain a Java stack.
SAP NetWeaver hubs such as Business Warehouse, Enterprise Portal or Process Orchestration are not included.
Upgrade to 7.51 is supported for usage type AS ABAP for SAP NetWeaver 7.4 and 7.5 only.
Although I can find reference to this configuration in SAP notes and BPC 10.1 installation guide, I can't find the installation media related to the SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.51 full stack ( I mean not Innovation package which seems to be some kind of pre-version ).
If I understand it right, it seems like the Netweaver 7.51 Innovation Package is not intended for BW usage ( SAP NetWeaver hubs such as Business Warehouse, Enterprise Portal or Process Orchestration are not included ) ?
We have just upgraded from NW 7.4 SPS15 to NW 7.5 SPS9 due to maintenance planner not supporting SAP Geteway 2.0 components that were installed in the system. We are also in the similar situation and finding way now to upgrade from NW 7.5 SPS9 to NW 7.51 Innovation Package. As per your answer above now we understand that it is not possible to go with this path.
Question 2 : Is there any other work around that we can follow to make it If it possible to upgrade to NW 7.51 Innovation Package ? Other then the need to restore back to NW 7.4 SPS15 and then re-upgrade to NW 7.51 Innovation Package with deinstallation of SAP Geteway 2.0 components.
I upgraded to Java 7 Update 51, and I have ASDM ver 7.1(3). When I browsed using IE 10 to the to the ASDM web page on the ASA and added the certificate to my trusted root certificate store, I was successful in using both the ASDM webstart and the ASDM Launcher.
This sounds like a different problem as there is no problem installing the ASDM with the new version of Java, but there are issues trying to log into it. Are you getting a particular error during the installation?
I am running ASDM 7.1(5.100) with Java 7.51 and IE11 without issue.
Java security levels have changed and may need to be tweaked to work correctly with newer version of ASDM.
I also use TLS V1 Only but SSLv3/Any work too for both
Server & Client.
Note: TLSV1 you will need a personal cert created by a my local CA then imported onto the ASA.
I created a self signed FQDN cert for the ASA and applied it to the Cert Trustpoint with only 1 algorithm of AES128-SHA1 and also added this cert to my Local Computer Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store.
We encountered this as well, except we found a workaround. We were connecting to the ASDM via the local internal IP. I discovered that if you use the external hostname for the VPN or gateway, that works.
It says I need to update Java but the automatic link takes me only to download 7.51 which I already have.I know there are links to Java 8 but I am not tech savvy enough to work out which version.Usually I need to download both a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Can anyone help me with specific download links or information please. Thanks in advance.
Oracle released Java 7 Update 51 on January 14th. As part of the installation, the Java security level is set by default to High. With this security setting, self-signed and unsigned applets are blocked from running. This can be verified by going to , as this site uses an unsigned Java applet.
It is possible to whitelist specific sites, which allows the ability to access those specific sites and run Java applets and Java Web Start applications that do not meet the latest security requirements.
It is also possible to lower the security level to Medium, which is the least secure setting. At this security level, all Java applications are allowed to run after presenting a security prompt.
so true! Alas and alack, i have an older iMac and this also happens with the new Windows 8 laptop that i bought 1 month ago! am so frustrated! Have tried what youve tried and still nothing helps.. ?
Tried everything and nothing has worked but i finally managed to get it running a few minutes ago. First turn your security level down to medium and untick enable java content in the browser and click apply. SImply click apply again and it should work. Worked for me ?
Thank you! It worked but I am facing another issue now. I have Java 7 Update 51 and recently updated Safari to 6.1.1, After i updated Safari, when i connect to vpn, internet is blocked. When i sign out in Network Connect, internet works. Without internet, my purpose of connecting to vpn becomes a waste. Any help is very much appreciated.
i have been a player of Yahoo Spades for over 20 years. I have an older iMac, OS : 10.5.8 Lately, i get all the way into the game rooms/lounges, and join a table. Then it kicks me out and whole internet goes out. Of course internet comes back immediately, but same thing happens every time i go to Yahoo Spades site. What am i going to do? Also, i have a new Windows 8 pc that wont let me play this game either!
Can someone figure out this for me? I have a program I am trying to run. It is at this site:
I figured out a way to get to the site list. I have the 64 bit and the 32 bit. Used Chrome. Windows 8.1. Can someone help???
Suddently on the webvpn Interface when i click on my web bookmarks (and java launches in browser) i get this fail in Chrome and FF 'It has take a while for SSL VPN Relay til load. You need to verify Java is enabled in your browser' and nothing happens...
I've been en dialog with cisco TAC for over two weeks now. Still now solution. The support case has just been dispatched to another tecnical how has just mailed me. So here we go again Cisco TAC ...... :-(
The only way we can get anything working in chrome is to put chrome.exe in smart tunnel applications then open the SSL VPN with IE. We can then run the application we want with chrome through the tunnel created by IE.
I have a Hexxit server and I am currently using the most recent build of MCPC+ server on 1.5.2. I got most plugins to work, like essentials, worldedit, worldguard, ect. but when I try to install factions, or mcore, it doesn't even install a folder. It gives me the "Could not load 'plugins/mcore.jar' in folder 'plugins'. I have the latest version of java and JDK installed. I went into my command prompt and it said I am running the latest version of java, 7.51 or whatever. I tried installing the latest version of mcore and factions, the ones meant for 1.5.2, and the 1.7.4 alpha version of factions that doesn't require mcore. None of them work and all give me the same error. I see that a lot of Hexxit servers running the current server version has factions on it. I am confused.
This release includes building code and running Gradle with Java 18, building code with Groovy 4, much more responsive continuous builds, improved diagnostics for dependency resolution, as well as configuration cache improvements for better performance, Adoptium toolchain provisioning for JVM, and more.
We would like to thank the following community members for their contributions to this release of Gradle: Michael Bailey, Josh Kasten, Marcono1234, mataha, Lieven Vaneeckhaute, kiwi-oss, Stefan Neuhaus, George Thomas, Anja Papatola, Bjrn Kautler, David Burstrm, Vladimir Sitnikov, Roland Weisleder, Konstantin Gribov, David Op de Beeck, aSemy, Rene Groeschke, Jonathan Leitschuh, Aurimas Liutikas, Jamie Tanna, Xin Wang, Atsuto Yamashita, Taeik Lim, Peter Gafert, Alex Landau, Jerry Wiltse, Tyler Burke, Matthew Haughton, Filip Daca, Simo Gomes Viana, Vaidotas Valuckas, Edgars Jasmans, Tomasz Godzik, Jeff, Lajos Veres
Now Gradle picks up changes nearly instantly on Windows and macOS for all Java versions as well, making Continuous Build respond quickly on all major operating systems. This is because Gradle now uses its own robust and natively implemented file system watching system instead of relying on the generic API in the JDK.
