Sorry for the late reply. if i have understood it correctly its the
anastomosis between nervus Jacobsoni (n. tympanicus nerv.
glossopharyngei) which "anastomose" with the superficial part n.
petrosus minor (i dont know the terminology, if its considered a ramus
of the petrosus minor or a nerve from the petrosus minor). According
to what i have been told its not a true anastamosis since the nerve
fibers from the two nerves does not cross-synapse. Instead they just
run together. I think its also considered to be a part of the plexus
tympanicus. As of clinical importance?? i have no clue. Maybe its just
like Kachlik say's, "this structure has no clinical importance
whatsoever but its anatomy so you have to learn it" :op
