Good Morning,
Twaweza East Africa is glad to share with you , latest survey findings on citizens’ views regarding healthcare in Kenya. The data has been generated through the Sauti za Wananchi initiative , a platform that uses mobile phones to regularly collect information from a broad cross-section of citizens.
Key highlights:
Please find attached, summary of the findings and methodology fact sheet which explains our sampling procedures and public opinion poll processes.
Sauti za Wananchi,
managed by Twaweza, is Africa’s first nationally representative mobile phone
survey. It provides scientifically reliable data on citizen opinions and
monitoring data on what is going on in Kenya. We have constituted a national
representative sample of 2000 respondents, who are each given a basic phone as
well as a solar charger and interviewed once a month on topical
issues ,through a call centre. The provision of mobile phones eliminates
exclusion for underprivileged respondents.
Sauti za Wananchi
allows survey data to be gathered quickly and efficiently, at low cost, to
inform citizens of what's going on and to support policy-makers to be more
responsive to the needs and aspirations of citizens.
Twaweza is a not‐for‐profit organization working in Kenya Uganda and Tanzania with a vision of an open society, built on the human impulse to make a difference; where information and ideas flow, citizens engage, and authorities are responsive to the needs of the people (http://www.twaweza.org/)
