Greetings!   The Ford Foundation seeks a thoughtful, curious and engaged Program Officer to focus on Youth Opportunity and Learning (YOL) in East Africa.  Might you please have ideas regarding potential candidates for this unique role?  We would also appreciate it if you would share notice of this opening widely with your networks to help us identify a strong and diverse candidate pool. 

 

As described more fully in the attached position announcement, the YOL Program Officer in East Africa will help the Foundation invest in a next generation of diverse young leaders committed to advancing social justice and finding solutions to major challenges confronting the sub-region, especially related to inequality. The Program Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that strengthens young peoples’ civic engagement and political participation to ensure that public resources benefit their interests, and supports efforts to connect youth with networks, mentors, and movements that build their leadership skills and agency.
