Two questions:

1) I've a table which contains a F (Formated memo) field.

This field contains a formatted text (perhaps some links too)

I wanto to write this formatted memo [FM] to clipboard and paste it automatically to another app (e.g. word, mail. ...). Rem.: with unformatted text it works

But it's not possible to write the formatted memo to the clipboard and then use it within another apps.

Has somebody an idea, how to do it?

I want to use it with send e-mail e.g. like this:

   const
      BLANK = "%20" ; Space
      NL = "%0D%0A" ; New Line
   endConst
   var
      d  Date
      fm Memo
      s  String
   endVar

   d = String(<appointment date>)
   fm = <formatted body text>
   s = "mailto:<recipient mail>?subject=Confirm&body=<Sender>" + NL + NL +
    "Confirm appointment:" + BLANK + "on" + BLANK + d
   s = s.substr(1, 255) ; Subject line can have max length about 255 chars

   StartWebBrowser(s) ; mailto: opens the standard mail sw

   ; if mailto contains the body= part, then the cursor is placed within the body field of mail-sw

   ; ****** Here has to follow something like this

      fm.writeToClipboard() ; don't work. Another apps can't read such formatted clipboard format. Some can read just the unformatted text (or nothing)

    ; *** e.g. convert first the FM to HTML (or another readable format for clipboard) and then write this as a text to clipboard. Not shure, if this is a solution
      fm = ConvertToHTML() ; has to be written. Should return HTML or another readable clipboard formatted text
      fm.writeToClipboard()
    ; then send with jmsndkys to the mail-sw a message to paste the formatted text from the clipboard to the body field of the mails-sw

Any idea?

2) I've P8 and P9 with distribution experts.

P8 contain the file
axdist.exe 785 KB

P9 contain
axdistex.exe 42 KB

Many antivirus SW detects the axdistex.exe as a virus (an AV company prooved the file and confirmed that it's an virus)

The P8 file axdist is not recognized as an virus.

Because P8 is obsolete, I need P9.
Therefore I'd the following:
- remove from PDE9 the file
axdistex.exe 42 KB
- copy from PDE8 the file
axdist.exe 785 KB
to PDE9 and rename it to
axdistex.exe 785 KB

and have no problems.

Does somebody know, what is the purpose of the file axdistex.exe? Could there be side effects?

Thanks

Ivan

Look at  writeToRTFFile
Writes a memo to an RTF file.

Syntax

writeToRTFFile ( const fileName String ) Logical
writeToRTFFile writes a memo to an RTF disk file specified in fileName. This method writes text including the formatting of formatted memos.

Maybe you can take it from there ?

axdist.exe is a Microsoft based installer / setup utility
It comes on most of the Paradox CDs, used for Paradox Runtime, I think.
If you are copying from a legitimate Paradox CD, it is likely OK to use.
Some malware scanners flag these types of things because of the legacy methods they use.

Ivan, basic same suggestion as Kevin gave - write it formatted memo to text file, import the text file, the rest of your process evidently works

If the formatted memo field is just formatted text (Arial 10, New Roman 12, etc.) the only thing you'll lose is bullet points and stuff like that. Might be important, might just be an annoyance, but keep that in mind.
