Hello everyone,

I was just curious if anyone else is noticing extended validation
times when posting stories on SIYE? I only ask because 2 or 3 days to
validate a chapter seems a bit much to me, but I do realize that it is
that time of year for finals. I was just curious.

Thank you,

Chris (Belcris)

Yes it does appear to be taking a long time at the moment.

Mine didn't take more than 24 hours as far as I can tell. I am
concerned though that goingbacktosquareone submitted a chapter days
before I did and it still hasn't validated. My chapter has been
validated for around 2 days now. My previous chapter took a long time
though. i guess they are really backlogged or lost a few validators?

I can't speak for what order others are doing things in, but I can say
that the stack is HUGE. It's been staying at 10+ stories, seemingly
no matter how much we do. Remember that for every 1 story/chapter
validated, we have to read 2-3 others that get rejected.

Hey, SIYE's not bad at all - hpff takes an average of anywhere between
6 to 10 days. Lately it's been closer to 10.

In a way I'm glad it was not my imagination, but I almost wish that it
was. My newest chapter finally vailitated on the 11th. Imagine my
surprise when I had several reviews waiting for me right away. :)

And so you should as it is a great story... I check everyday on SIYE to see
if there are any updates to several of the stories that I am following,
yours included.

Looking forward to the next Chapter.

I can say from empirical evidence with my various stories . . .

I've had things validate in less than 24 hours.

I've had things validate after more than a week.

It's random.

Also, the key thing to remember is that these are, in fact, volunteers doing the work.  There will be a natural skew toward reading "favorite" authors or stories, and validating those first, even though in general they probably try to do them in order.

Just keep working on things in parallel...

Thanks. I just finished chapter 16 and I'm waiting for 13 to come
back from beta. I'll post it soon after that. :)

I used to see 24 hours all the time, but recently it's been much
longer. You are absolutely right though, they are volnuteers and as
Dave said, for everyone that they approve there are more that they
don't.

As for working in parallel, I've already finished the full outlines
for the next 2 stories and I'll start working on the next as soon as I
finish writing 17 of PS and then the short epilogue. Add to that a
partial outline for a Naruto story for a friend, and a Bleach story
for a friends son. (He want's to fight as Ichigo's partner.)

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts on the matter. :)

Can't wait to read more of your work. :)
