Dear Parents,

Last Friday St. Thecla students celebrated our Grandparents with Mass, breakfast, and an open house. We had a great turn out! A special thank you goes out to our Family and School Association for all their hard work setting up this wonderful tradition. Mrs. Huber and Miss Lecher also did a fantastic job preparing the Mass with the middle school students. Traditions like this are what makes St. Thecla so special.

Last week a handbook addendum was sent home discussing St. Thecla’s Acceptable Use of Technology.  Please take the time discuss this with your children. You can find the addendum on our school website under News and Announcements. Going home this week and next week is an Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement that must be signed by both parents and students.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering here at St. Thecla must be Virtus trained. St. Thecla is hosting a Virtus training session on September 25 and October 11 in Moriarty Hall at 6:30PM. Please register online at www.archchicago.org and click on the lower left side of the screen where it reads “Protecting children”.

The St. Thecla football team is looking for someone who is interested in video recording our games on a regular basis. Most games are on Sunday afternoons at 12:30 and 2:00. If anyone is interested they can contact John Borner at 773-297-3261.

The St. Thecla Hair Razor Haunted House is requesting volunteers to help set up, to be “scarers”, security, tech support, ticket sales, and concessions. Volunteering starts now! You can volunteer to help set up September 12, 19, and 20th. More information and dates will be going home this week. Please contact Cindy Diets (daha...@sbcglobal.net) or Marita Finnegan (marit...@att.net) for more information.

Students can still sign up for St. Thecla’s Children’s Choir. If interested, please contact Mrs. Rottman at school or Ewa Kowcz-Fair at 773-594-1005.

Congratulations to our Junior Varsity Cross Country girls who took home 1st place at the Resurrection Jr. Bandit Cross Country Invite.  Way to go, girls! Good luck to our Cross Country and Football teams who are playing this weekend. Check out the athletic calendar on our website for times and locations. Go Falcons!

As always, please remember the importance of weekly Mass attendance with your children.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dan Gargano
