Dear Parents,
Congratulations to the St. Thecla Academic Bowl Team! Our team took 1st Place at the St.
Ignatius Academic Bowl this past Saturday. Congratulations to Olivia O'Hehir,
Madeline Meade, Kasidy Caldwell, Elizabeth Kottl, Siobhan Collins and Coach
Collins! We are all very proud of you! You truly "Raise the
Standards"!
Last week St. Thecla Parent/Teacher Conference forms went home on a gold sheet of paper. They are due back this Friday, November 2. Please remember that conferences are only meant to be ten minutes long- if you feel you need more time please schedule your conference for another day and time.
I would like to thank everyone who played a role in the St. Thecla Hair Razor Haunted House this past month. The countless hours parishioners, parents, students, teachers and staff donated is truly remarkable. Without everyone's help, this event would not have been so successful. Congratulations on another successful and frightening event!
Parents, please remember to enter your volunteer hours that you worked for the Hair Razor Haunted House. This year we are “self-reporting” all volunteer hours. To do so, please follow the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T5V7Q5B
We celebrated Halloween today at school! We started the day with a spooky concert for primary students. After lunch we all changed into our costumes and paraded around the block before our classroom Halloween parties. We saw Power Rangers, zombies, princesses, cats, fairy tale characters and more. What a fun day!
Beginning tomorrow, November 1, students must wear their “winter” uniform. This means no khaki shorts or gym shorts. Also, please remember to send your children to school with a jacket for recess. Girls may wear their gym pants under their skirts on recess.
We are still looking for volunteers for our Texas Hold 'Em event. Please email Dylan Farmer at dyla...@comcast.net if interested. Also, we are asking each family to try and get at least one person to attend the event. We all know someone that plays cards- an aunt, uncle, family friend etc. We will also have an amateur tournament.
Yes! We hit our mark of over 100 pies sold for Market Day! Thank you to everyone who ordered this month! A free dress down day for November will be announced soon!
At the end of each day, students are reminded to make sure they have everything to go home. Please speak with your children about the importance of making sure they have everything they need at the end of the school day. Students will not be allowed back into school after dismissal.
As always, please remember the importance of weekly Mass attendance with your children.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dan Gargano
