Dear
Parents,
This week we have a dress down and a dress up day! We are having a Christmas Dollar Dress Down Day on Thursday, December 20. Students may wear Christmas sweaters or red and green and donate $1.00 to look Christmas-y. We will have an all school Christmas Mass on Friday, December 21. We are asking students to "dress up" on Friday in their Sunday best (khakis, collard shirts, dresses, etc.).
Last Friday many students traveled to Norwood Park Nursing Home and spread holiday cheer by singing Christmas carols to the residents. Thank you to all our students who attended, and a special thank you to the teachers for organizing and attending this wonderful event.
Our Christmas plays were fantastic this week! Our students are ready for Broadway! On Tuesday our first grade told the story of the First Christmas with grace and admiration. Then on Wednesday, grades 5 through 8, with the help of the pre-kindergarteners, put on a Christmas Spectacular! Mrs. Lange, Mrs. King, Miss Miller, Mrs. Huber, Miss Lechner, Mr. Kessler and Miss Storto did a great job preparing the students for the plays.
Going home this week are this year’s Spelling Bee words! They will also be posted on our school website. Our annual Spelling Bee will take place in January: The Classroom Spelling Bee is on 1/15 and the All School Spelling Bee is on 1/29. Click the following link to study this year’s words on Spelling City: http://www.spellingcity.com/Spellingbeethecla/
Please remember that Friday is a half day; we will dismiss at 11:30AM. This means that there is no aftercare. Also, the entire school is attending Mass at 8:30AM so our office will be closed until 9:15AM.
May the Glory of Christmas brighten your way and God’s gift of a New Year bless each day! Enjoy your break and have a Merry Christmas!
Classes will resume on Monday, January 7, 2013.
As always, please remember the importance of weekly Mass attendance with your
children.
Merry Christmas,
Mr. Dan Gargano
