Dear
Parents,
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Zachary Rivest
(pronounced Ra-vay) to the St. Thecla
community as our new computer teacher. Mr. Rivest has a passion for technology
and will help St. Thecla expand our technology program by incorporating computers,
SmartBoards, and iPads into his lessons.
Today, Wednesday, October 3, Progress
Reports went home. Please make sure to go over them with your children and
have them returned to school with a parent signature.
This week we have been celebrating St. Thecla Homecoming Week! The week has
been filled with exciting events led by our Student Council. Please be sure to join us on Sunday to cheer
on our Falcons at Notre Dame
High School! Junior
Varsity plays at 12:00 and Varsity goes on at 2:30. Go Falcons!
Our iPads are officially being integrated into the curriculum this week!
All 60 iPads have been programmed and downloaded with educational apps for
students and teachers. I look forward to seeing what amazing lessons our
teachers have planned using the iPads!
Ident-a-kid is returning to St. Thecla
on October 12. Ident-a-kid provides vital information needed to identify
your child incase of an emergency to law enforcement. Information about Ident-a-kid
is going home today in your child’s folder.
Please remember to support our school by ordering Market Day. Next month Market
Day is running special offer for their holiday pies. If St. Thecla sells 100 pies, we will get back 30% of our order! To make
this offer even more enticing, I will give students a free dress down day in
November if we hit our quota of 100 pies! It's never too early to start
ordering pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Our Hair Razor Haunted House begins on
October 12th! Make sure you sign up to volunteer. It is a fun way to get
your mandatory hours, meet new families, and celebrate Halloween with St.
Thecla. Please contact Cindy Dietz (daha...@sbcglobal.net) to volunteer. Also, we are still in need of Room Parents-
rooms are filling up fast, so get your name in! Volunteering as a room parent
is great way to help out and earn your hours! Contact Michelle Arnold at marno...@yahoo.com to sign up.
Finally, I would like to recognize the St.
Thecla Faculty and Staff for a wonderful start to the school year. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated
and caring teachers and staff. They stay late, come in early, and honestly
care about the success of each student. Make time this week to thank your
child's teacher for all that they have done and will continue to do this year.
God bless St. Thecla Faculty and Staff!
As always, remember the importance of weekly Mass attendance with your
children.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dan Gargano
