Hello beautiful bike people!

Combe Haven Defenders are a group opposing a new link road to be built between Bexhill and Hastings it is the first on many 'roads to nowhere' being planned across England.  £100 million for 3 miles of road which will bring no real benefit to the area only more traffic, lots more houses and a huge business park space.
They really need you're help especially anyone with tree house building skills (see the email below)
Here's their web page http://combehavendefenders.wordpress.com
and their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/combehaven.defenders

Please pass this on to anyone you know who would be interested or is in the area.
Thank you!
Love, peace and bicycle grease!

Urgent help needed to defend the trees (Mon 17 Dec)

We urgently need people to come to Crowhurst tomorrow (Monday 17 December) to help defend the trees along the route of the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road (BHLR). Please come to the site of the disused railway line tomorrow (Monday 17 December) near Adam's farm in Crowhurst - see map here: http://combehavendefenders.wordpress.com/2012/12/16/urgent-help-needed-to-defend-the-trees-mon-17-dec/
Rendezvous 7.15am at Crowhurst station (the 7.03am from Hastings arrives in Crowhurst at 7.15am) if possible. Otherwise come as early you can. For more info - or if you can offer lifts or anything else - contact 07926 423 033.

The last three days have been pretty frenetic. Today (Sunday 16 Dec) activists were able to enter the area where tree-felling was taking place in Sidley, but were tackled by security guards (see photo above). Later the action moved to Adam's farm in Crowhurst, with one activist locking himself onto a contractors' vehicle, blocking the access route to the site and impeding the road builders' plans. See reports here (SchNews) and here (BBC Sussex).
The chainsaw gangs have reportedly already cleared 3 of the 20 sections between Bexhill and Crowhurst. So, if anyone knows of a team of climbing-savvy activists with the skills to come down and build a tree house, now's the time to mobilise them!
