Hey,
I've just been to the UK Bike Gathering this weekend (which was amazing! Randomly, Marco from Ampioraggio in Bologna was there, and also one of your old school friends Alice...) and so here's a couple of items for this list;
Funding: I'm not actually trying to push for Lush , but at the gathering I met a guy from a really cool bike project in Sheffield and they have just received their Lush pot of money for their earn-a-bike-scheme for refugees and asylum seekers... I talked to him a little bit about what it involves and it sounds like there's no advertisement / promotion commitment afterwards, and amazingly no monitoring of the funding either. Clearly if we did look at this as an option all of this would need to be checked, but we have a group we can talk about the process and they could also potentially put us in touch with the right people in Lush.
Publicity: I did a very short talk on the biketour (with Marco there to give a perspective from a project visited by the tour!), and a guy who is involved with running Boneshaker Magazine (a magazine to celebrate bikes that's available internationally) is interested in featuring an article on Ecotopia Biketour in a future issue of the magazine. I have limited time now but have emailed him to ask when the issues come out / what the deadlines are, but is this something we would be interested in and is anyone up for writing something / collaborating to write something? (Joao, Alice - he also asked about this image from the website - http://www.ecotopiabiketour.net/wp/wp-content/uploads/biketour//2012/06/bicisquecambianelmundo-200x300.jpg - i'm guessing he's after a higher resolution version / to know whether he can reproduce it or not).
