here's a mail sent out by can piella people a few days ago. about what
happens and what everyone can do to help.

On
Thursday, October 4, Can Piella get a precaution eviction order to be
executed in the period of 9 days (Sunday 14th). But Can Piella alive,
Can Piella is scheming ... For us it's an opportunity to show that
Can Piella is all the people who came, participated, enjoyed,
followed, enriched and believes in this project anf his ideas. We are
planning of make a open meeting around during 13-15 of October. So if
you want to come you will be welcome for sure. In the next days we
will concret more.
If you have not the time
or don't want to come we need also a special help of the
international people that can be made localy. Unlikely, spanish press
looks with very good eyes when local news has an international echo.
That's because we suggest you, as you wish, that the Can Piellas
eviction threat exceed the spanish borders.
This are some local actions
you could do to help us:
- Spread the eviction threat of
Can Piella (bouncing the mail, twiting (@canpiella), etc...)
- writing press releases to your
medias, with a photo if possible.
- go to the spanish embassy and make an
symbolic action. Make a photo, send it to us and spread it where you
want.
- Every autonom action that you see
interesting is welcome!!

Can Piella is an
old house of the XVII century in the metropolitan area of Barcelona,
which lands and properties were completly abandoned.
Aware of the mutlidimensional crisi
society is in (ecological, social, econimical and political), in 2009
we decided to restore and recover the space to generate news and not
so news way of life and impact for a global change.
The project has as axes the alimentary
and economical autosufiency, throught the landwork, the bread, beer,
honey and olive production, the live in community, the recuperation
of old knows and the spread of autonomy and popular empowering ideas.

Why they want to evict Can Piella?
The house is propiety of a big firma
named Grupo Alcaraz. The property had the land completly abandoned,
without intention to recover the historical and cultural heritage of
the building.
After the first year the property put a
complain to the people, who where there, asking for their eviction.
The judicial process took almost two years, until know, which
resolution has been in benefit of the privat property and the land
especulation.
During the judicial process we tried to
contact with the property to achieve an use assignement trade, but
the interest of Alcaraz is not to give to the space life, but the
maximations of his economical benefits.>>

El pasado jueves 4 de octubre recibimos
en Can Piella una orden de desalojo cautelar que se debe de executar
en un periodo de 9 dias (domingo 14 de octubre). Pero Can Piella está
viva, Can Piella está maquinando... Queremos aprovechar la ocasión
para demostrar que Can Piella no somos solo los que estamos dia tras
dia, sinó toda la gente que ha visitado, participado, hechado un
cabo, que se ha interessado, gozado, enriquecido y cree en las ideas
del proyecto de esta masia centanária del Vallés.
Estamos pensando y perfilando ideas que
us iremos comentando, de moment necessitamos que hagais difusión,
rebtando el mail, twiteando (@canpiella), telfs, etc. También hemos
activado un Oiga.me para recoger demandas que le enviaremos juez:

otra
inciativa autonoma también será bienvenida!

¿Qué es Can Piella?
Can Piella es una masia del S. XVII que se encuentra en el Vallès, en
el municipio de Montvcada i
Reixac, area metropolitana de Barcelona, el inmueble y los terrenos de
la cual se encontraban
completamente abandonados y descuidados. Conscientres de la situación
de crisi multidimensional
a la que nos enfrentamos (ecológica, social, energetica y económica),
el año 2009 decidimos abrir la
masia y restaurar y recuperar el espacio para intentar generar nuevas,
y no tan nuevas, formas de
vivir e incidir para un cambio a nivel más global.
El proyecto tiene como ejes la autosuficiencia alimentaria i
econoòmica, mediante la horticultura y
la producción de pan, cerveza, miel i aceite, vida comunitaria, la
recuperación de antiguos y nuevos
saberes y la difusión de las ideas de autonomia y empoderamiento
popular a través de jornadas o
encuentros de colectivos varios.

¿Porquè quieren desalojar Can Piella?
La masia està a nombre de una gran empresa que forma parte de un
conglomerado empresarial de
immobiliarias y constructoras llamado Grupo Alcaraz. La propiedad
tenia el inmueble totalmente
abandonado, sin ninguna intención de recuperar el patrimonio historico
y cultural de la finca.
Passado un año que se abriese la masia (2009) la propiedad interpuso
una denuncia a los inquilinos
exigiendo el desalojo de los okupantes. El proceso judicial ha durado
casi dos años, hasta que, hay
dia, la resolución ha sido en beneficio de la propiedad privada y la
especulación de la tierra,
Durante el proceso se intentó entrar en contacto con la propiedad para
poder llegar a un pacto de
cesión de uso, però el interès de Alcaraz no es el de dar vida al
espacio, sinó la maximización de su
lucro económico personal con estas tierras.
