guys -

see note below regarding wifi. seems like we will have free wifi on shore for 5 of the days. do we still want to buy wifi?

i kind of agree with gigi that it would be nice to unplug for some time and truly enjoy the scenery and by scenery i mean marcus' banana.

Oh yea - different from Banana Repiblik :)

Yes, Voyage boats have onboard wifi that you can activate for a day ~$20 or for the week  something like ~$140 I can't remember exactly but something like that.  Its advertising as the name of the boat and you connect to it then open a browser to input a credit card.

That'll be easier and allow 5 simultaneous devices.

I highly recommend unplugging though :)  experience the BVI more :)

Thanks for the info

BananaBoat is Voyage. Does that change things?

Banana boat is a DreamYacht Charters Lagoon right?

You can rent from Renport $280 / week and they will deliver to the boat and show you how to connect. http://www.renport.com/packages.htm

DreamYacht Carters may have other options, I'm not aware of. There is another more affordable company ICE electronics rentals but I"ve misplaced their contact info and haven't found it.

BTW, we will have free wifi on shore where we will be Sat,Sun,Tue, Wed & Thurs.

If we have free wifi for 5 days, then I don't think we need it on the boat. I also agree that it would be nice to unplug for a week or so (which is what I'm planning on doing).

I agree guys in principle but given my problems with Visas and jobs at the moment, it would really be useful to me to have it....

see page 15 for wifi instructions on boat for pricing plans. it seems we can pay for it on the boat using credit card.

Also, you'll get cell reception when you're in the water between Tortola and St. John USVI (and potentially on the West End of Tortola), at least with AT&T.
