What Kind of Foam

Folks,

I want to mod one of our road cases and I need some of that highly rigid foam that is used to make "custom" cases fit one particular piece of equipment. For example, the road case for our mixer has this foam to hold the mixer neatly in position.

Looking on Amazon, there are zillions of different kinds of foam. What is the right stuff called so that I can buy some?

Shadow foam/tool control foam is what I’ve always called it…

It is available in various thicknesses.  There are other types of foam also:

It sounds like you’re describing Ethafoam. Trade name for closed cell polyethylene foam. Some distributors refer to it as “plank.” Available in different densities ant thicknesses. Usually at a packing /crating business.
