Are you passionate about sound design, live performance, and interactive technology? This practice-based PhD explores how actors can intuitively control sound in real time, using procedural audio and Internet of Sound (IoS) technologies to create immersive, co-created theatre experiences.
Essential: First-class honours or distinction at Master’s level in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, Theatre Tech, Computer Science, Music Tech, or similar. Skills in programming (C++, Python, Max/Pure Data), networking (OSC/UDP), and strong interest in live performance.
Funding: Covers UK/international tuition + living allowance.
