Folks,

What are current recommendations for good dual-ear headsets for rabbis and cantors? Ours are trained speakers/musicians so they are loud.

We have some Countryman H6 (more than 12 years old and still going strong) but I have read some recent reviews that Countryman quality has gone down the tubes in the last few years.

I have been using Microphone Madness lavalier mics in the theater with great success. I tried two of their dual-ear headsets at the synagogue and they have been unmitigated disasters. I'm returning them for refunds.

What's your budget? Point Source Audio, Sennheiser, and DPA are the top three brands I'd recommend.

I have several recent (purchased 2025 and 2026) Countryman elements that have been performing just fine since I put them in service. I use a lot of B3’s so I can’t comment on their headset varieties, but I’ve had no issues with these. Purchased through Sweetwater.

We use and really like the Acacia mics.
Here is a link for one at Sweetwater that fits to a Shure beltpack.

Good pricing compared to a lot of other mics such as the Countrymans.

Following up...

I checked with my account manager at Sweetwater. They have not seen an increase in returns or repairs of Countryman earsets. So I think thta the H6 of today is probably as good as the H6 of yesteryear. Our clergy will be happy that they don't have to think about this... just get another of what they already know.

Cheers,
