April Agape 20 April Easter Sunday
Our April Agape is at sunrise on Easter Sunday. We will gather at the Southern side of the Shorncliffe pier. There is a foreshore parking area and parking is also available on Park Parade. Follow the concrete path from the parking area towards the pier to the gathering space with three symbols on the foreshore.
We will commence our Easter ritual at quarter to six so try to arrive around 5.30am so we can settle into the quiet before sunrise which is 6.05am. You may like to bring a folding chair or to sit on the grassed area.
Following our ritual we will have a shared breakfast so please bring something to share and your own drinks. There are tables, bench seats, toilets and barbeques in the ‘breakfast area’. We look forward to gathering as Archer Earth Community to celebrate Easter life and resurrection.

Easter Message: Faith Shaking Resurrection
You may find this short piece by Ilio Delio helpful in preparing for Easter. She says: To live in the Risen Christ is not to be dogmatic, entrenched in static beliefs…. It is simply to express by one’s life that you have seen something new and you want to tell others what you have heard
Conversation Package Three: Climate Casualties
You may be interested in the Josephite Community resource which has been developed to ‘spark discussion, inform and inspire people of hope’. The resource draws of the encyclical from Frances entitled Laudate Si (2015) and his followup statement Laudate Deum (2023).
Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week
We are approaching Reconciliation Week, beginning with Sorry Day on 26 May, which acknowledges the strength of Stolen Generation Survivors and encourages us all to play our part in the healing process for our nation. The theme for Reconciliation Week this year is Bridging Now to Next and invites us to look ahead and ask how we evolve into a united and respectful nation. The theme song is 'Solid Rock' by Goanna - ‘standing on solid rock, standing on sacred ground’. See https://www.reconciliation.org.au/our-work/national-reconciliation-week/
Bird Life Australia 2024 Results
The results from the October Survey last year are in and the top three Australia wide species are Rainbow Lorikeet, Noisy Miner and Australian Magpie. No two states shared the same three birds which reminds of of the diversity across states. In Queensland the top three birds were Rainbow Lorikeet followed by Noisy Miner and Torresian Crow. Key Dates in April
22 April Earth Day
The theme for Earth Day 2025 is
Our Power, Our Planet and invites us all to unite behind renewable energy to triple the global generation of clean energy by 2030. See

25 April World Penguin Day.
In concluding we wish all our Archer friends the blessings of Easter and join Pope Francis in this prayer for peace in all war torn places - especially Gaza and Ukraine.
On this Easter day, when we celebrate the life given us in the resurrection of the Son, let us remember the infinite love of God for each of us: a love that overcomes every limit and every weakness.
Let us not allow the current hostilities to continue to have grave repercussions on civil populations, by now at the limit of endurance.
How much suffering we see in the eyes of the children. The children in those war zones have forgotten how to smile. With those eyes, they ask us: Why? Why all this death? Why all this destruction?”
Peace is never made with arms but with outstretched hands and open hearts.
May the light of the Resurrection illuminate our minds, and convert our hearts, and make us aware of the value of every human life, which must be welcomed, protected and loved. Amen
Blessings from
Archer Earth Community
