June Agape Monday 9 June
We gathered at Shorncliffe for our June Agape with the theme from Brian Swimme, Epiphany of Wind - the cosmic dynamic of expansion. The Universe was certainly participating in Agape as we needed to move from our designated spot to shelter from the freezing South Easterly! Welcome to Bernadette who joined us for Agape.
Our Acknowledgement of Country included a version of Yothu Yindi’s Our Kind of Life recognising the custodianship of the Turrbal and Jagera first peoples.
Wth the recent feast of Pentecost we reflected on the expression of Spirit as wind - dynamic, creative, exuberant, generous, communal, joyful. See the Agape handouts below.
We enjoyed our time for personal reflection on the shores of Moreton Bay followed by rich and diverse sharing with poetry on wind and an adaptation of Cat Stevens song The Wind. Our sharing continued over our shared lunch with lots of stories. Some pics below.
July Agape Friday 11 July
The change of day to Friday is because this is a quieter day at the Centre without school groups and so the availability of the Ranger. As usual we will gather for morning tea from 10am for a 10.30 start and conclude with a shared lunch. Parking is available either on the road outside the Centre or in parking bays near the Centre. We will gather at the tables next to the main building.
Our time together will include prayer & ritual, a short talk by one of the rangers, opportunity for personal time to explore the Centre, time to wander along the boardwalks or sit quietly at bird hides.
There is some seating around the tables but you may wish to bring a folding chair. Please bring your own drinks and food to share.

A Bigger Table: Richard Rohr
This short piece by Richard Rohr may be helpful as we try to understand the fear of ‘the other’ leading to war, racism and exclusion. He reflects on the ‘undying recurrence of hatred of the other’ and the way of Jesus who made a ‘bigger table’. See

Walter Bruggemann 1933-2025
Many of us have been influenced by the writings of theologian Walter Bruggerman who died recently aged 92. Walter writes:
What God does first and best and most is to trust us with our moment in history. God trusts us to do what must be done for the sake of the whole community. You may like to read about this great human being at

Holy One beyond all names
Eternal Wellspring
May love rise again in us today
With food for every table
Shelter for every family
And reverence for every life.
Forgive us our failings in love
And free us from all falseness
That the light of our souls may shine
And the strength of our spirits endure
For Earth and all its people
This day, tonight, and forever.
Amen
Blessings from
