Dear Friends

Archer Earth Community Agape dates 2025
Our dates for remaining Agapes in 2025 are as follows:
October Sunday 12 The wisdom of Ilia Delio at 2461
November Monday 10 Poems & Stories from Thomas Berry at Nudgee Beach
December Sunday 14 Christmas Celebration at 2461

October Agape
For our October Agape on Sunday 12 October we will be back at 2461 Sandgate Rd Boondall,  gathering from 10am for a 10.30 start and concluding with a shared lunch.
The theme for October Agape is The Wisdom of Ilia Delio.  Ilia sees the key to the human community moving forward in this technological world, as a renewed consciousness of an inner centre of divine love rising up in evolution. Without a deepening of love through meditation or contemplation, in a world of super fast technology, the gaps between us will eventually widen.
It is time to take control of our own evolution, and ask in the words of John Lewis, “Where are we going, and are we going together?” Thomas Berry’s dream for the Earth is that, “We will go into the future as an earth community and a human community, as one single sacred community or we will both perish in the desert.”

Archer Meditation
Our meditation gatherings are on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. We gather at 2461 Sandgate Rd Boondall from 9.30am to 10am or via the online option at https://www.worldpeaceprayer.org/
Simply click on this link for the World Peace Prayer site and then click on the candle to join the meditation.
Next Meditation Dates:  1 October, 15 October

Future Council Film Screening
Edmund Rice Oceania Formation Team are hosting this screening on 7 October at 3.30pm.  The ‘Future Council’ consists of eight young people who take a road trip across Europe to challenge powerful leaders on their response to our greatest ecological challenges.  For more details and to register please see the attached brochure.

Listen and Surrender to the Presence of Love by Ilia Delio
As our October Agape will focus on Ilia Delio you may like to read this reflection by her in which she says:
Living in the presence of love has become my daily meditation. When anxiety about the future rises like a tide, presence reminds us that we only ever have this moment to live from and to love anew. Each challenge becomes an invitation to deepen our trust in love's guidance……this is our deepest calling: to show up fully for this precious human life, to let ourselves be instruments of love's endless creativity, its ceaseless invitation to greater wholeness.  See https://www.ncronline.org/spirituality/listen-and-surrender-presence-love

Climate Target 2035
The federal government national target to reduce emissions by 62–70% below 2005 levels by 2035 was informed by the Climate Change Authority  (CCA) advice.  While the CCA Report is a heavy read the Key Points at the start of each chapter plus diagrams provide a good overview.  See https://www.climatechangeauthority.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/2025-09/2035%20Targets%20Advice.pdf

Season of Creation Resources
As we come to the end of 2025 Season of Creation these eco-spirituality resources may be helpful as we continue our growth .  See https://laudatosimovement.org/eco-spirituality-resources/

We conclude with a prayer from the Laudato Si’ Movement Prayer Book:

God of Life,
You love the universe into being,
Let us give praise.
You embrace the world without distinction,
Let us give thanks.
You call humanity to make
Flesh your tenderness,
Let us live accordingly.
You endow all creations
With your beauty and wisdom,
Let us acknowledge.
You forgive all trespasses,
Let us learn your ways.
You grace us unconditionally,
Let us receive humbly.
You are our hope,
Let us remember.  Amen

Blessings from
