I believe that if you add all the new fonts to the below folder and restart ArtCAM, they should populate in the list. They need to be (.TTF) in order to read correctly. I believe there is another file type that works but it's escaping me at the moment.
Recently the same issue faced by the computer operator of rabi crops details. But the issue occured when you install the fonts and don't restart your computer or laptop. Actually the installed fonts pitched by the editing and documents software like word when you restart the system. So I also suggested him to restart your computer when he restarted the issue get solved.
There are a few things you can do, one with artcam before ad ......... you could always re do the font then save as an artcam font, a little bit of work but sometime quite useful if you liked the font, if it were to be just a onetime thing then just ungroup the letters then open the node edit and go to work on those letters you need fixed, the only trouble with doing it this way is they are no longer recognized as a font if you need it to follow a line orrrr your sort of screwed, and if 6 months down the road you need that font you end up saying some choice words.
In addition, please confirm the settings being used on the Tool Settings: Text Tool panel when you're creating vector text in your model; a screenshot showing the settings on the Tool Settings: Text Tool panel would be useful, so that I can test it and suggest accordingly.
If any of your designs involve working with text, you will greatly benefit from the ArtCAM Express Font Creator Module as it not only gives you the freedom to create your own unique text but also the ability to tailor any font to match the specific capabilities of your CNC machine. Selecting from a database of approximately 300 fonts including standard fonts such as Arial or Times new Roman to more artistic ArtCAM fonts such as Artchisel, the Font Editor allows you to edit, manipulate and distort existing fonts to create your own distinctive font designs.
In addition to the font library, ArtCAM Express will automatically detect any fonts that you have installed on your computer. If you wish to work with a specific font that is not currently in the library, for example a specific AutoCAD file these can be quickly and simply imported into the software for alteration. The advanced font editing tools also give you the freedom to control the size, positioning and alignment of edited points.
Any newly created fonts and symbols can then be added to the font library for you to use in the future. This can be particularly useful if you customers have a specific font for their logos for example or if you want to create your own in-house style.

When I try to view fonts using the 'Find More' button in Adobe Cloud, some fonts load, while others simply don't. It happens the same across Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I've tried resetting Adobe Cloud, login-out etc etc - there are no third-party extensions installed. I'm running an M2 Macbook with 96 GB of memory so that's not the issue. It's pretty much pot-luck if I get to see some fonts or not - perhaps the weather is controlling it - nobody seems to know - not even Adobe!
On a side note, I've had this issue since Adobe Cloud existed. The most buggy software I've come across, and the most unhelpful support that after 5+ years has still not been resolved. Adobe should be ashamed of providing such terrible software and service and I will refuse to pay for another month of my subscription until it is fixed.
Multiple factors can be involved when trying to browse for fonts using the "Find More" button within applications like Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Anti virus and firewall settings can be a culprit. So can font management applications and/or other rival graphics applications that are open and running in the background.
I don't really like the "Find More" feature in the fonts menu; if I want to add new typefaces from Adobe Fonts I'll just open a web browser window and look at the Adobe Fonts web site. The web site provides larger, superior looking previews of the fonts. Variable fonts get their own page showing what the font's variable axes can do. When a font or entire type family is added at the Adobe Fonts web site it immediately becomes available in the Adobe applications connected to a user's CC account. For other non-Adobe applications to use those fonts it's necessary to open the Creative Cloud Desktop app and "install" those added fonts. But the same thing is true when auto-activating fonts using the "Find More" button inside Illustrator.
Yes, there is a way to check the calibration of Ucancam and the CNC Router. You can calibrate the software and machine to ensure that what you see on the screen matches what is being cut on the CNC. It is important to make sure that the calibration is accurate to achieve the desired results.
Based on the information found on the Forum page at their website, if you have single line fonts, then the installation is just like any available font for your computer. Firstly, locate the font and then go to Start > Run > fonts. Secondly, drag and drop the fonts to the Fonts folder. You will see an installation display dialog. After this procedure, restart the application and the fonts will be available for usage.
We are a small company from Romania, Sunprotection Corp Ltd. and we bought a CNC router machine from Creation Mechanical & Electrical (Shenzhen) .Co Ltd in 2010, model: CTE 1225 A and UcanCam V8 engraving software. Because the original computer is old, I tried to reinstall the original program with original dogkey in Windows XP SP3 and SP2, but the program is unstable. Can you please help me? Maybe the original software CD is damaged.
Please help me with the proper version of the program. I am writing to you because Creation Mechanical & Electrical (Shenzhen) .Co Ltd is on vacation, and I'm in an emergency. The machine is the only machine base for my business. For the future I think I will purchase a newer version, but do not know how much and if it fits my budget.
According to their support page, the software (version 8) is compatible only with Windows XP. There is no support for newer versions of Windows. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do except upgrading to a newer version of the software (9 or 10). For this purpose, access their official website to find more information about this. There is no patch or tweak to improve the compatibility of version 8 for newer versions of Windows as well.
I am a first time user of CNC machines and Ucancam. I get to cut a shape or a name as I program software but the blade does not lift up high enough between objects and cuts into my object. What should I do?
There is a user guide manual available for downloading through Google Search. Access the search results and download the PDF file from the Netdna-CDN website. In the file there will be instructions on how to use the safe height for Z axis. The function is explained in detail with example to get you started. Make sure you have a working PDF reader installed in your computer.
The feed rate we set in the tool management for a specific tool is not speeding up the feed speed on the router. It seems all feed speeds are set at 3.6m / min
The hand controller is Weihong NK105 G3
The feed rate issue you are facing could be related to the settings within the Ucancam program or the configuration on your CNC router. It does not appear to be a spam message or advertisement, and there are no political implications.
Morning All
Could anyone please steer me towards a single line font as near to Arial as possible
I need to produce a number of items with text on some being fairly small the customer would like Arial but when i get down to around 12mm or 1/2" it starts to get a bit tight with cutter diameter
Any thoughts or ideas would be gratefully received
As you can see DejaVu Sans / Bitstream Vera Sans have more width as Arial. I find that with Arial, ubiquitous in the web, letters are very close side by side and narrow at same time and not that easy to read.
If you look at arial each letter has 2 vectors and a space between them when you create a tool path the choice is inside vector or outside vector or along vector but in order to get this to work on small fonts you need very tiny cutters.
@CSM if you are using vectric there is a single font option and Helvetica looks very similar to Arial. I all make sure I ungroup the font and convert to curves so I can adjust the spacing of each letter myself.
Arial top Helvetica bottom
