I've been trying to extend the Make Quiz and Take Quiz apps to include image URLs with little success.

How does TinyWebDB store URLs - if i store them manually they look fine, stored from the app and extra \ characters are added.

Anyone successfully built the app with this functionality?

Howdy Ian

twdb just knows about text.

copy the twdb value and paste it here so we can look at the extra \ characters

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply.

This is what I enter in the Make Quiz app:

and this is what appears in the database:

["http:\/\/www.kelso.scotborders.sch.uk\/information\/images\/school_home.jpg"]

it looks as if the / character is escaped using a \

But I'm not sure how to get the app to ignore it when it reads it in

regards,

Ian

What happens when you get it from twdb, copy the value into text and display it in a label?

Gary,

Looks like I've been a bit dim here - the app reads the url correctly - I'd been adding it manually and wondering why it didn't work - next step is to get the Take Test app to display the image stored at the URL

(still struggling with getting the Make Quiz app to read 3 lists instead of the original 2 but that's another matter :-(

Sorry if I've wasted your time,

regards,

Ian

I am hammering on something else for the next little bit, the end of the year looms

and
We have the technology.  I do not have the time.
That will change ;-)

anyone else got some time?

Gary

Ian
