Hello everyone
I've been reading most of the emails and I agree that this first
meeting will leave little time for astrology per se.
The following is a summary of what has been suggested for discussion
thus far as well as a couple of things I have added:
• Decision about a name, start time and dates - we need to agree as a
group to Graham’s dates for this next term or decide on another set of
dates
• Identify the nature of the group - how many of us are beginners,
intermediates and advanced/practicing astrologers so that the focus of
the group is in line with the distribution of knowledge
• Astrological topics of interest to the group and mode of delivery ie
participation exercises, mini lectures or a bit of both
• Firm up the committee members and their role, eg, to be responsible
for putting together a meeting schedule and notifying the meeting
content in advance. As a suggestion, we could have a facilitator and
a presenter for each meeting. This would spread the load. The
facilitator would arrange computer/projector, paper charts for
brainstorming, printed support material as required, leaving the
presenter to work on the presentation itself
With respect to this week's meeting, breakout sessions and report back
on these 4 topics will be more than enough for a 2 hour session,
especially if we allow some time part way through for social ‘get to
know each other’ break.
Pepe has offered to take the minutes. We'll also need a discussion
facilitator in order to remain focused and draw out a number of
conclusions in the short time frame, and as no one else has offered, I
am happy to take on this role for the first meeting. If anyone would
like to add something to the above agenda, please do so via the-zodiac-
room before Thursday so that I can print it out on Thursday morning.
There has been a suggestion that we change the start time to 7pm, but
Janine set it at 7.30pm so let's keep to that for this week and
negotiate the start time for subsequent meetings.
I’m excited about this new group – the diversity along with the number
of members. I think we can make this into a forum which will offer
something to everyone and one which we will all look forward to
attending.
