Hey Group,
I would appreciate any advice on this presentation.  The color of the slides is not the most appealing.  I am going to attempt to add narration to the slides as well.  Thanks
Chad

Group,
I just reviewed my Power Point in VIEW mode from Google.  It does not show the transitions and much of the text does not line up properly.  I tried downloading it, and it worked fine.

Chad,

I think that your presentation does a good job with presenting all of the important aspects of UDL. It also has a nice flow to it. The two pet peeves I have with PowerPoint are wordy slides and too many animations. If you were to actually present this, I think the wordy slides and animations would take away information being spoken by the presenter (you) and be a distraction to the participants. When it comes to presentations, PowerPoint's, and most of my life I like to follow the KISS method (keep it simple stupid) to ensure that the audience is focusing on me and my content and using the slides as a reference. Of course, this is a bit difficult to achieve since we are being graded on this and want to be sure that we have demonstrated our knowledge of the requirements for this assignment. Sorry if that came across as rude; after going through your slide show I feel that I have a better knowledge on UDL.

Kyle,
I appreciate the great advice.  I did think it was too much information I was putting on the slides, but like you said, I was trying to cover all of the requirements for this week.  I agree that I did get carried away with the animations, too.  I have never created a Power Point presentation like this before, so I was going to town with all of the interesting gadgets.  Were you able to hear the narration?

I had an opportunity to look at your presentation as well.  The Prezi program looks very interesting.  Is it easy to use?  I did watch some of my students creating a presentation using this program and it is eye-catching.  I like the graphics you used, because it kept my interest.  In addition, the presentation had smooth transitions.  Can you add sound and video to these presentations?  Are there any limitations to this program?  I am excited to try it.  I do think keeping the information simple and brief is very effective.  I am impressed with your work.

Chad,

I was unable to hear your narration. This could be due to two reasons:
1) My computer is super slow and failed to load them.
2) When you recorded your voice, did you create separate files and then upload them to your PowerPoint? If so, when you uploaded your PowerPoint, it did not upload the narration with it.

If the second one is the case, I would create a folder for your PowerPoint along with your audio files when you upload it to Dr. Wolsey. I am not sure if that will work, but I'd hate to see your audio get lost.

Thanks for your comments, I think mine lacks in specificity. It is very easy to get carried away with Prezi's and trapped into a black hole when creating the presentation (as I did my first few times). However, I find that students enjoy creating these more than PowerPoints and they can collaborate on different computers. Plus its free! Yupp, you can add sound, video, and images to a Prezi.

Hi Chad,

You may have submitted your work already.  However, I just wanted to say that it is truly rich in content and useful information.  Added visuals will definitely help and expanding the information for added clarity may will definitely boost the impact to an audience.  Either way, it looks great.  Good job!

I agree that finding the right balance is difficult in something like this since we are not actually presenting... Since doing this project, we have had the Voice Thread adventure.  I guess that format would work well for depicting what a PowerPoint presentation would be like with just the basics for reference on the slides and all the explanation in the narration.  I kind of fought with the narration part for awhile and then it randomly started working... par for the course, but it did force me to become familiar with a tool that has a lot of possibilities--- for me as a teacher and for my students.
