Dear Ones,
We are camping out in the woods, and do not have internet access very often... When we were in town, and may have gotten computer access, the computer was just turning off intermittently with no predictable pattern while we were trying to use it! We are praising Yah that He worked it out that our computer was with a 'computer doctor,' and he had just pulled all of the files off of it and onto a flash drive when the hard drive completely died! It is a blessing to be on today, and to be 'catching up.'
We are not seeing this month the same way you are. But then, we may be looking at different information...It was a tough call for many people in our movement this month, because some of us are still training our eyes and collecting data to understand how the moon works, and how the ancients understood the moon to tell them what date of the month it would be.
Psalm 81:3 is our basis. To get a clearer picture of the day the
ancients understood as the full moon day, we have first considered Philo
because he was the first one we were exposed to showing the Sabbaths
according to the moon, and then the Book of Enoch as a resource because
it was available during Philo's time - the language of Philo is similar to the book of Enoch- and some of its passages were alluded to or quoted in the Scriptures. After that, we went into other
ancient astronomical information, which we have not quoted, to confirm the
astronomical understanding of the moon's dates and phases.
In a nutshell:
The 14th/15th tells us which day will be the full moon. Some people think the 14th ends at sunset and others in the morning. However, the day of the 14th is the day the moon becomes full. The full moon is not late, your calculations set you a day early. The 14th is the day that the sun sets around the time the moon rises - that is the day the moon becomes full. It is also called the 'opposition day' in some ancient astronomical literature. The 15th is when the moon has all the portions of light in it, and also is the [first] day [in the month] the moon rises in the night. This is the astronomical information shown in the book of Enoch chapter 78 - which confirms the 14th being the opposition day in other writings.
Blessings to you all,
Tom & elisheba
PS We are looking for some studies that are reasonably easy to follow, showing how it is that this land is considered Israel in earlier times - There has been very little available in the past century .... If anyone has anything that would be helpful we would appreciate it. We suspect that the pilgrims/puritans etc. had that idea, and even the 2300 day prophecy, which the Millerites used to bring attention to 1844 - although they didn't understand what the term 'then shall the sanctuary be cleansed' meant.... It appears that they were also familiar with the 2520, which I believe is related to the seven times, and if that didn't bring Israel to repentance, then it would be seven times seven... Anyway, it is something we would like to get a handle on... Shalom
