ShaLOM Gilbert,

 

A Day Begins at SunRise.. and ends when it gets Dark.. The next Day does not begin till SunRise. For numbering purposes we include the Night.. but the count starts at SunRise. This can be Seen in Genesis 1.

 

When we begin the ChoDeSh Cycle Correctly.. the Full moon will Perfect on the 14th or 15th though to the eye it can look full for 2 sometimes 3 nights.. Mean Full moon is when sun rise and moon set or moon rise and sunset are in Sync. On the morning of the 15th the Moon will usually linger after sunrise.

 

While this is our Only Scriptural Anchor. with the definition of ChoDeSh we know that it is Rebuilding.. which gives us another Peg with which to Fix our ChoDeSh Cycle.

There is one way that works best for all.. we have seven Pegs to Fix the ChoDeSh Cycle.. they don't all fit perfect.. but to the perception (what we can actually see) they do.

 

1. ChoDeSh -Day of Rebuilding at the end of day see first crescent. -Check!

2. see first Quarter on the 7th -Check!

3. Waxing Gibbous on the 9th -Check!

4. full moon on evening of 14th -Check!

Age:	50% (15 days 7 hrs 58 mins)

5. Waning Gibbous on the 20th -Check!

Target:	10/27/2010 11:46:13 AM
Phase Name:	Waning Gibbous
Percent of Full:	78%
Age:	65% (20 days 0 hrs 0 mins)

6. 3rd Quarter before 22nd -A little bit late as it often is but to the eye it works.

 

7. final Crescent before 29th (around every other month)  -an off month..

 

So that is 6 out of 7 for 10/9/10 and a pretty good fit..

 

As you Probably know there are also Seven MO'ADIM

Three of which are ChaG 2 are ShaBaTON

there is IOM KiPPURIM and then there is ShaBaT.

 

we normally refer to the Four Phases -New Moon, First Quarter, Full moon and 3rd Quarter.

in this case New Moon Carries the True Definition Conjunction. There are also Seven Distinct Light Phases of the moon..

- First Crescent, 1st Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, 3rd Quarter and Final Crescent.. Hmmmm 4 and 7..

4 weeks to the ChoDeSh Cycle 7 Days in a Week.
