deficit and divergence of vital interests have created a situation where the
nature of relationship between Pakistan
and USA
has to be fundamentally reviewed and restructured.

want friendship and not dependence and no master-client relationship.
Because of our participation in America 's
war on terror Pakistan 's

According to Prof. Khurshid, self-reliance, tightening of the belt and
rationalization of all our expenditure and mobilization of
domestic resources
is the only road to dignity, independence, and prosperity.
"The message
is very clear in the latest unanimous resolution of the Joint Session of the
Parliament and we must tell USA
that if they want Pakistan 's
cooperation new terms of engagements have to be worked out ensuring
Pakistan 's
vital interest and cooperation in respect of the areas of the mutual interests
and concerns.
While demanding the Government to immediately start
implementation of the Parliamentary Resolution and appoint an independent
Commission to examine the issues raised without delay, Prof.
Khurshid Ahmad expressed the hope that the Government would
not use its traditional delaying tactics and implement the Resolution in
letter and spirit.
