Let me clear your IGNORANCE by a simple example. Today if every copy of all the religious scriptures on this planet are thrown in the deep sea so that noone can reach it, only the Quran will be reproduced in a matter of hours without a single mistake of a letter. None of the other scriptures nor their many versions will ever be reproduced even after a year. Do you know why .... The main source of transmission of the Quran is thru' Memorization from cover to cover from the time of its revelation.

 

What was destroyed during the time of Caliph Omar/ Uthman was the different dielects poeple wrote on their own. But there was no corrrections required for the Reading for Allah protected His revelation thru' memorization. This is the miracle of this Scripture which we call as the Living Miracle. Anyone who  takes a serious and sincere study of it will sure embrace it. Even today there millions who memorize the Quran from people learnt it from the chain of memorizers leading to the prophet and you will be amazed to know that this list of names is still maintained. Nearly 1400 years ago Allah decided to reveal one version of the scriptures to Abu Bakr (a.k.a. Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa), and another version to Ali (a.k.a. Ali ibn Abi Talib). Somewhat later Allah decides to reveal his scriptures to At-Tayyib Abi Qasim (a.k.a. the 1st Dai al-Mutlaq). In 1889 A.D. Allah decides to reveal his scriptures to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of India. In 1974 Allah decides to reveal his sciptures to Rashad Khalifa of Egypt. (The list can go on and on...... I can name altogether 34 versions of the Quran).

Everyone of these claims that they have the ORIGINAL version of the Book. So far Allah has kept mum and has for some reason not yet decided to state which of these versions is the ORIGINAL one. Maybe he wants the Muslims to kill each other over the disputes regarding the originality of the Quran until the survival of the fittest of all these groups. Then he will declare that the book that sect has in possession is the original one.

We are sure because we have the ORIGINAL version of what was revealed a 1400 years ago by the Lord of this universe Himself. We have it in tact in its original language of revelation. That language itself in wide usage today .... This luxury not availble with any other religion .... they too claim to be in possession of Divine revelations but they in hundreds of versions in languages other than the original language spoken by its Teacher.

 

Buddhism is in even a worse situation ... its teachings were that of a man and it was not written down anywhere close to the time of his existance .... since there were no script available at that time ... so thay had to wait over 500 years until a script developed that too not in the language spoken by Buddha. Even worse is when that scripture constantly changed by so called "Reformers" who removed chapters and gave new ideas according to their primitive understandings .... as confirmed by Weeraketiye Amarawanse Thero, a leading scholar of Tripitake. This evolved in to several versions. Now no one knows which is the closest to the original message .... for sure none is the original teachings of Buddha.

 

So for Muslims it is a great blessing that Quran has been preserved by Allah Himself as promised by Him in His Book .... "It is we who sent it (The Book) down and We are its Guardians".  It is the living MIRACLE for everyone to verify. And we have great confidence and the guts to speak on its behalf without having to waver and shiver infront of un-believers as Buddhists feel today.

 

So I invite all of you to leave all your baseless, meanigless, illogical arguments and join Islam Quran being the focal point of belief. From what I have explained only the Quran should be sufficient for all Buddhists and non-Muslims to embrace this majestic Religion if they are little bit wise.

So, since Ananada is debating this with us, he must be still having some "vichikichcha", or a desire to preach. Either way, there is no harm done. Jayasooriya, where he wonders if Nama, roopa, have another additonal  structure etc etc). So is Ananada against any discussion of the Dhamma because he has a gut feeling as to what is right?  Without been rude, and also noting that he did not use the word gut, may I remind what is in the gut? Nyas Abbas has a differnt set of gut feelings,, and he is sure that they are true. Also, may I remind how easily what you "feel" is right could be wrong - esp if you had taken a little too much of fermented grape juice.
