These are the flower girls not brides .... This was the marriage ceremony conducted by Hamas on their expense for the poor couples ... The brides are face covering girls not shown here. The youngest was 16, Most were above 18.  Read the real news here ... There were more pictures of this .... I have sent them to all earlier....

"Hamas denies holding mass kiddie marriage" - facts dispute anti-Muslim propaganda (Aug.2009)

"Internet video claims 'shocking wedding for 450 little girls'.

Hamas has strongly denied Internet rumors and blog reports claiming the Palestinian Islamic group last week held a mass ceremony at which little girls were married off.

A video circulating on the Internet, titled "Hamas shocking mass wedding for 450 little girls," purports to show children who appear to be about 8 to 10 years old being married off in a mass Hamas ceremony last week. Little girls in what appear to be wedding dresses
are filmed arriving in cars and then walking down an aisle with the grooms.

The video and related pictures generated scores of blog postings making similar claims that Hamas was marrying off hundreds of little girls.

WND received a large volume of e-mail asking the news organization to investigate.

Hamas indeed held a mass ceremony last Thursday in which nearly a thousand Palestinians celebrated marriage. Many of the families involved said they could not afford their own wedding party. Each groom received a present of about $500 from Hamas, which said its workers had also contributed 5 percent of their monthly salaries to add to the wedding gift.

Ahmed Jarbour, the Hamas official in Gaza responsible for social activity, told WND the youngest girl to marry at the ceremony was 16 years old. He said most brides were above the age of 18.

Jarbour, like two other top officials contacted by WND, was offended by the suggestion Hamas would marry off little girls.

He explained the minors seen in the video were family of the bride or groom. He said it was tradition for little girls to dress in gowns similar to the bride. He said the little girls walking down the aisle with the grooms are family members of either the bride or groom.

A WND review of the video found some of the little girls, speaking in Arabic, state they are at the wedding of a family member. The girls interviewed do not say anything about themselves getting married.

Multiple calls to Palestinians who participated in the wedding affirmed the little girls are not themselves the brides.

Hamas, meanwhile, hailed the wedding ceremony as a victory.

"We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness," Mahmoud al-Zahar, Hamas' chief in Gaza, told the grooms at the event."

Gaza Marriage Video Not What It Might Have Seemed

By Aen•   on August 3, 2009

The vid eo that appeared to depict the mass marriage of Children in Gaza that was briefly posted here was not in fact what it seemed.  It has been brought to our attention that the children in the footage were not brides but participants in the ceremony.  We are now convinced that this explanation is correct and have therefore removed the clip.

Many thanks to Tim Marshall for clarifying the correct context of the footage.

Just pass this on if they try to ridicule Muslims ....

This particular email has been circulating for some time. I was glad that some of my non Muslim  friends  sent this to me and then I was able to check it up and  explain to them that it was a hoax.  I was happy that I stopped my  friends from circulating this email.  See above attachment.  It just shows the anti  Islamic propaganda  that goes on and on. There are so many such emails circulating  and it is good to receive this so that we can also explain the truth to Muslims and non Muslims. We are also able to understand the nature of the  anti  Islamic propaganda.

However as  suggested by our Sister  I also would like this topic to be discussed by learned persons in the  Muslim Watch  Group.  Thank you.

Wassalaam

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Islam,
I am forwarding this messagae for your thought.  Many of our young muslims are being misguided and confused about certain issues in our deen.  One of the main controversial issue is our beloved Prophet's marriage to Ayesha (RA).  I personally know people who have lost interest in the religion due to some similar issues like I mentioned above (for which they did not get a proper answer).   Its more embarrassing when they are questioned by their non muslim friends or colleagues. Alhamdulillah, our religion is the truth but we need to seek knowledge to clear these doubts.  We need to educate our ummah and protect them from going astray.

I can give an answer to this sister but its better if this is discussed in muslimwatch which could clear the doubt of many.
Please give your comments on the issue of Prophet's marriage to help our sisters and brothers.

May Allah SWT forgive our shortcomings and guide us to the right path.

Wassalam.
Sister in Islam

Dear sister Fathima,
Do you think 52 year old man marrying a 6 year old baby is correct? My friends ask me. I need an answer. --- On Sun, 9/4/11, Fathima Farveen <ffar...@yahoo.com> wrote:

Dear Sister in Islam,
Why did you forward this message to me? Are you trying to ridicule and criticise Prophet Muhammed's (SAW) marriage to Ayesha (RA) and his other wives?   This seems to be one of the false propaganda against islam as usual. If you are a good muslim,  please don't forward this kind of messages to other fellow muslims.

Mass Muslim Marriage in Gaza
Poor kids - what a terrible fate to be born as a girl in a Muslim country

Muhammed married a six year old bride. But he was kind enough to wait until she was nine years old to consummate the "marriage". But Islam has evolved in 1500 years. In Hamasland, in 2009, the brides are almost seven.
Prophet Mohamed Started this. He married twelve or thirteen times (cannot say exactly as some say one is not his wife but only a sex slave) and his second wife was only 10 years old Aaishah, who was the daughter of Abu Bakr, the friend and follower of Mohamed. He married her at the age of 52.

Mass Muslim Marriage in Gaza
·         450 Grooms Wed GIRLS Under Ten In Gaza
By Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.
Thelastcrusade.org

A gala event has occurred in Gaza.

Hamas sponsored a mass wedding for four hundred and fifty couples.
Most of the grooms were in their mid to late twenties; most of brides were under ten.

Muslim dignitaries including Mahmud Zahar, a leader of Hamas, were on hand to congratulate the couples who took part in the carefully staged celebration.

We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness, Zahar told the grooms, all of whom were dressed in identical black suits and hailed from the nearby Jabalia refugee camp.

Each groom received a gift of 500 dollars from Hamas.

The pre-pubescent girls, dressed in white gowns and adorned with garish make-up, received bridal bouquets.

We are presenting this wedding as a gift to our people who stood firm in the face of the siege and the war, Local Hamas strongman Ibrahim Salaf said in a speech.

The wedding photos tell the rest of the sordid tale.

The International Center for Research on Women now estimates that there are 51 million child brides now living on planet earth and almost all in Muslim countries.

Twenty-nine percent of these child brides are regularly beaten and molested by their husbands in Egypt; twenty six percent receive similar abuse in Jordan.

Every year, three million Muslim girls are subjected to genital mutilation, according to UNICEF. This practice has not been outlawed in many parts of America.
