I never said it was that diffucult. Just show me and the rest of AZ a
case that you made from start to finish and I will get off your back,
maybe. You are so full of yourself....you will probably come up with
something.

These photos your pushing means nothing to me or any one else since
you did not make them....comprende?

JUSTIS CASES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently I have been "attacked" for not being a one-man shop. Jack
says that the cases we build don't mean anything to him or anyone else
because according to him I did not build them from start to finish
myself. Refer to this inexplicably closed thread for clarification
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=234883

Well I think that the cases mean a lot to the customers who received
exactly what they wanted.

So my question is where is it written that making something all by
yourself makes it better?

Jack says above that he will "get off my back" if I show him a case I
made from start to finish.

First of all I don't care about his opinion in this regard because he
doesn't even make the cases himself. He buys pre-made interiors from
China, farms out the carving and farms out the laser engraving. Most
of the stamping on his cases is done on a roller press where you
insert a piece of leather and crank it through. That's not hand
stamped it's machine stamped.

Secondly the quality of our work far surpasses his in just about every
aspect one can think of.

So is it just some romantic notion that somehow if a single person
makes a thing that that thing is somehow "better" than similar things
which were made in a shop full of people?

I hear this all the time when people want to compare our shop with
those of others who supposedly do it all themselves.

If you have $500 to spend on a cue case would you want the best
possible product for your money or would you prefer to spend more on
hype?

I don't know where people get the idea that hand made means well made.
I don't know where people get the idea that a single person has to be
the only person who touches a product for that product to be good or
special.

Stay on my back Jack. The more you try and discredit me the more I
will show that your cases are hype first and substance later.

You take better pictures than we do. I can fix that by hiring a
photographer.

You can try and stand on your soapbox about making the cases all by
yourself all you want to but it doesn't matter.

Tell you what though, let's make it all things equal and have a little
case maker build off since you think I can't make a case.

I will design and build a case all by myself next week and you do the
same. Build the baddest ass case you can and I will do the same. I
will film the entire process from start to finish. Then let's let AZB
decide who is the better case maker. I will even spot you the interior
that you have pre-made in China as I will sew and make my own from
scratch with no help from my staff.

We let AZ vote for which case is "better" on such criteria as
originality, fit and finish, and cue protection.

The loser agrees to publicly apologize for all past transgressions
against the winner. Since you have a cookie cutter setup this ought to
be easy for you.

For everyone else feel free to discuss the pros and cons as you see
them of one-man shops vs. staffed shops.
