It looks like the "old school" character sheets were tailored to
specific classes (i.e. Rogue, druid, cleric). Is there a difference?

Yes. Open the document in Acrobat (not a browser window) and expand
the layers tab. Select different layers for different classes. The
differences are primarily on the lower half of the first page.
