This benefit was created in memory of Casey Kizziah and Mario Siletti, both amazing and wonderful Shakespeare teachers at Stella Adler, who we lost to AIDS. Through the annual Shakespeare Benefit we honor their work and their lives while raising money for those still struggling with this disease. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation's leading industry-based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. They fund the social service work of The Actors Fund and award grants twice a year to AIDS service organizations nationwide. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting has proudly supported Broadway Cares with proceeds from the Shakespeare Benefit for over 18 years.
