Subject: Jacqui's next play, BABY HUBRIS

Much Loved and Open-Hearted Friends and Family,

Six years in the making, countless other projects came and went, but BABY HUBRIS was somehow always living in my mind, taking space in my soul, and beating out it's poetry (quite literally) in my heart. It was a voice that decided of it's own accord it must rise up howl. SO the time has come to breathe life and give birth to this baby

Yeehaw!

Your support and love (especially during the last 16 months) have been invaluable and I can not THANK YOU and express my gratitude enough as you've witnessed me stepping into my soul's shoes and taking off running. The deep love I've already experienced from you all is a palpable and wildly strong thing. It's changed my life forever.

My play, BABY HUBRIS, will have it's world premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival this August. FringeNYC is the largest festival in North America, with 75,000 attendees it adjudicates each submission for seven hours before deciding to grant acceptance into the festival. It is the stomping grounds for TONY award winners and some of the most innovative theater in the country.

BABY HUBRIS : a magical-realism call to arms it creates a world where you meet - Leslie, who "wants to fuck up your chakras."  As an overworked single mom she starts hallucinating the ghost of Dr. Benjamin Spock and takes him as her personal guru. We meet Wyatt, a transplanted cowboy who howls at the moon with three headed-dogs, and six month old baby Jack, who talks and doles out wisdom for the ages. With sex, poetry, and Greek gods Leslie gives birth to her power and with rambunctious dramatic-comedy we explore love, ego, and passion while carving out an authentic life in NYC.

In the coming month we need to raise $6,075 to pay mandatory Fringe fees, build sets, obtain FDNY fire code certification for set pieces, create marketing, buy insurance, book rehearsal space, build a website, print playbills, give stipends to directors, actors, lighting/sound designers, board operators, graphic designers, photographers, stage crew, and the fire guard! As of today, all expenses I have paid out of pocket and I'm calling on your wild hearts once again.

I've created an IndieGoGo page with delightful and one-of-a-kind incentives that invite you to live in the mythology and passion of BABY HUBRIS.

Want a sassy and personalized prescription from Dr. Ben Spock's Rx pad? A mp3 of Wyatt and the cast serenading you a sample of his Greek God rock opera? A hand-written page straight out of Leslie's diary? These and half/full page ads inside the playbill are available to you! Step into the immersive world of BABY HUBRIS!

So, please, come visit our Indiegogo page at  http://igg.me/at/babyhubris

Check out my three-minute intro video explaining the project and enjoy a snippet of the spoken word poetry prologue. Please feel free to help get the word out and forward this e-mail to one and all!

Also, come join us by seeing the show this August and check out our listing on Fringe.Org for coming information!

Let's rock and roll!

With such love,

Jacqui

Hi everyone!

Thanks Dusty for forwarding my intro e-mail, so you can all get the inside scoop below!!

I've written a full length play I am producing and starring in this August at the NYC International Fringe Festival. If you'd like to check it out, below is an e-mail intro to my IndieGoGO page! The link to the page and immersive and one-of-a-kind incentives are here: http://igg.me/at/babyhubris The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ8X3jZJM3s

P.S. After my video pitch I perform a teaser of the prologue (yay spoken word poetry!) The prologue does address some adult issue (yay love!) so just pause after the pitch (1:17 mark) if there are children (yay kids!) in the room.

LOVE!
Jacqui
