Aspects: ?

[Narrative]

When Finn arrives at the address, he sees it is a large house in the wealthier section of town.  He climbs the stairs, and works the heavy knocker.  A few moments later, the door opens and a man servant drolls, “Deliveries are to be made to the back of the house.”  After a brief discussion, Finn is let into the home, and led down a dim hallway to a large dining area.

Already seated at the table is a bespectacled man with very pale skin and jet black hair.  The table he is set with fine plates and silverware.  Food of various types: meats, vegetables, bread and cheese, are set upon the table, but appear uneaten.

The man appears to be pouring over some parchment when Finn is brought in.  He looks up from some papers he was reading, and then holds them up.  The man servant quickly collects them, and excuses himself from the room.  “Please, sit”, is the greeting,  accompanies by a slight gesture to a chair.  Without asking, something is poured from a pot into a cup, and placed in front of the Tiefling.

“What do you know about goblins?”, the man asks, not pouring himself a drink.

[OOC]

I had him do the spell in advance of arriving.

"Well, goblins tend to have a lot in common with large, angry frogs. I
can't say they are pleasant company, but they do have uses."

Finn walks near to the table to peruse the various foods available. He
settles on a small piece of bread after much fussing.

OOC: Trying to get a look at the papers and if they important or just for show.

The man nods, bringing his hands up under his chin, and resting his nose on two of the fingers.  "Indeed.  Unpleasant, but useful.  Breeding is the key to maintaining them, and discipline of course.  Mating is easy, but they tend to kill their young for stupid reasons, so only a portion of the new crop end up living long enough to be either unpleasant or annoying.  Feeding them is easy, they will eat almost anything.  Training them is next to impossible, but keeps them busy, I suppose."

"You will have control of a small abandoned base of operations a few days from here.  It has some useful amenities, but will need some spit and polish to have it working.  Your first task will be to get the goblins, of course.  The base has adequate room for several dozens, somewhat separate from the main living quarters."

[OOC]

The papers seem legitimate.  A ledger of some type, written partially in code, Finn suspects.

Finn squints in an odd manner at the strange bookkeeper. "You want me
to ... 'get' ... goblins? You mean to recruit the foul things in some
way? Do I look like the kind of wizard who tends to vermin?"

Finny primps his tunic in a showy bit of snobbery and helps himself to
more of the food, tending toward what appears more expensive.

After an appropriate pause, "Go on with the rest of your proposal. I
will judge if compensation is adequate for such an unpleasant task. Is
this 'base' near any towns or cities? I cannot be too far from
civilization."

"How do you think goblins come into employment?  They are vile, and useless, but useful fodder, and you will need them."  The man shrugs, "I suppose you can choose not to use them, if you like.  I have negotiated a sale from a nearby clan, but you would need to select them and train them."

He stands, and moves to the hallway, then returns briefly with a map.  "The outpost is three days travel from the city, by foot, but we will get some faster transport for you and your associate.  The terms are simple:  My employer wishes to exert influence in this town beyond what i can do.  We anticipate the town will grow substantially, and become a major player in trade.  You will develop the influence of the town, and do the occasional errand for my employer.   He will, in exchange, provide support and allow you to keep the profits from your efforts."
