[Gm Notes]

Time:  early afternoon

[Aspects]

Guards are confused.

Fog (-2 to all sigh based skills)

[Narrative]

Nymh glances around the wagon and finds some spare rope.  Coiling it up, he hops off the back of the wagon and into the thick pea-soup fog that has suddenly enveloped the area.  He ties a portion of the rope to the wagon wheel, then heads into the mist, looking for a tree to tie the other end to.  Finding a good sport, he pulls the rope taut.

Meanwhile, Feathil sprints towards the goblin procession, hoping that they kept mostly to a straight line.  The occasional drag mark in the ground aids him, as he catches up to the procession, and spits out a word of power.  There is a slight change of pressure, as the goblins and box disappear.

The half-orc, the ranger, and the priestess remain obscured by fog, and do not interact with anyone this round.

The remaining goblins continue to move around, in and out of the fog.

[Elsewhere]

The goblins continue moving forward a few steps, before the fog dissipated enough for them to realize that their environment has changed.  From inside the box, come a soft knocking, which slowly gets louder.  The goblins look at one another, then shrug, carefully putting the box down, and slowly moving away from it, as the knocking continues.

Feathil encourages the goblins to pick up the box again and begin the
trek back to the hide out. "Time to go home fellas, you shall be well
rewarded when we return."

He will use some minor magics to lighten the weight of the box and to
silence it as well. No need for more distractions.

[Elsewhere]

The goblins continue moving forward a few steps, before the fog dissipated enough for them to realize that their environment has changed.  Feathil sighs with relief, as he recognizes the walls of the hideout, his teleport spell working as planned.

From inside the box, come a soft knocking, which slowly gets louder.  The goblins look at one another, then shrug, carefully putting the box down, and slowly moving away from it, as the knocking continues.  They look to Feathil for guidance.

When Nymh realizes the others and box are gone, he will whistle the withdraw call, and make his way back to the base, helping any goblins that are being hectored by any single or pair of guards, but avoiding any group contact that could lead to him being identified.

The tiefling offers to help the package, and then slips away to Nesme.  He knows the way to R.N.’s house, and is there in a relatively brief period of time.  The butler allows him entrance, and no more then 20 minutes later, R.N. is back at the hideout.

The crate remains as Feathil left it, thought some additional scorching is evident on the ceiling above the crate, and one unluck goblin appears to have most of his face burned off.

R.N. approaches the crate and speaks with a quiet, measured tone. <<Silence.  The deal has been made, and you well know the consequences of disobedience, princess. >> He flicks his eye and picks a goblin as random, and instructs it to search the crate for a pendant.  The wary Goblin turns white (or a whiter shade of mottled grey), swallows, and heads for the crate.

“No troubles, I expect?”, R.N. asks the tiefling, as the goblin leans into the crate and digs around, eventually pulling out the pendant.  “Put it on her”, R.N. advises the goblin.  “And bring me some cloth.”  The goblin does as bid, and any noises from the crate appears to stop.

Back in the woods, the goblins proudly show their trinkets.  One of them procured a large wooden spoon, another a set of wooden teeth. A few picked up a for coins, here and there.

All in all, only a few goblins were lost, and most seem to agree that the attack was a complete success.

"Keeps her well behaved", is the response.  "It appears to have been dislodged during the transport, which is unfortunate. I shall have to speak to the manufacturer about it.  For that much gold, a proper clasp should have been included."

When the cloth is brought, he drapes the crate with it, then picks a handful of goblins to carry the crate through the portal.  "With your permission", he says to Feathil, after a moment's reflection.

Of course if you waited for your partner before handing her over, we could have researched the situation, and maybe the necklace "fell out of the crate". Which means it wasn't "in" the crate, do we could have renegotiated for the necklace.

Money is FATE is a RP element, as opposed to GPs like D&D.  So, to some extent, it's a little moot.  Good vibe from the boss on a job well done is the reward.

There will be a little down time between this and the next "adventure".  You can focus on control of Nesme, or we can handwaive, etc.

I was thinking the same thing.  Will head into town for some rot-gut for them, and a couple bottles of the good stuff for us.  While there, will pick up a rumor or two.

After the feast is well underway, will fill Feathil's glass before tossing the empty bottle in the corner.

"So we didn't get rich this time, it happens... If you want I'll see if Screw Head (a goblin that had an unfortunate accident while putting together some furniture) will let you borrow the wooden spoon he captured... (Looking around at the goblins milling about, ending with a rueful smile and head shake) ... As soon as he is done sticking it up his rectum."

"Tell me again what was this woman's name? And the talisman?" (Using his lore and archeology/tomb robbing knowledge)

Nymh will look into trying to research the name.  Other than that, will see about maybe finding another caravan to hit.  He is big into artwork and the such.  If he can use the goblins to cause a distraction while he gets some stuff of value, it works for him.  If he can target some of the wealthier families in town's caravan, all the better.

Feathil is interested in some of the same things.

He will study comings and goings into town to get a sense of the
merchant caravans schedules and cargo.

He wants to know more about R.N. so that will be part of his
note-taking as he scouts the town.

He will look for more goblins to add to the tribe. Perhaps a team of
hobgoblins to keep them in shape while he and Nymh are out
investigating.

He wants to spend some time collecting alchemy type stuff. With enough
time and planning, they can do some pre-planning for future heists by
making potions of fog, scrolls of swarm summoning, etc. There is
probably a FATE way to do this, but I am lazy and haven't looked into
it :-)

I'll post the it stuff tomorrow or the weekend.

In terms of potions, generally Fate doesn't support them except as flavor.

There is an "extra" category which can be used for objects of power, but unlike D&D, it's not like stuffing spells into a wand.

Objects of power are essentially treated like NPCs (aware or not). They have skills and aspects. There is usually a cost associated with having them.
