Role: IBM MQ Admin - Messaging Expert ( MQ/Kafka/API Connect/OpenShift )

Location: Burlington , NC-Remote

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Messaging Expert with a strong track record in Kafka/MQ/IBM Streams technology. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on production experience and deep understanding of the Kafka architecture to ensure the smooth operation of our messaging infrastructure. Your expertise in Kafka's architectural components, such as brokers, Zookeeper, producers/consumers, Kafka Connect, IBM Streams, and your experience with Message Oriented Middleware and Event Driven Architecture will be crucial to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

Provide IT security and automation expertise, establishing baseline security standards and policies.
Utilize technical and business knowledge to design and implement enterprise-level Message Oriented Middleware and Event Driven Architecture solutions.
Implement and maintain IBM Event Streams, Apache Kafka, IBM WebSphere MQ, Red Hat Ansible, and Red Hat OpenShift technologies.
Ensure the security and stability of the messaging infrastructure by implementing industry best practices and staying updated with the latest security trends and vulnerabilities.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide technical guidance on messaging solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka, MQ, and IBM Streams, ensuring high availability and performance.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in messaging technologies and recommend improvements or enhancements to optimize system performance.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Requirements:

7-10 years of experience with enterprise-level implementation of Message Oriented Middleware, Event Driven Architecture, and Infrastructure as Code.
Strong hands-on experience with IBM Event Streams, Apache Kafka, IBM WebSphere MQ, Red Hat Ansible, and Red Hat OpenShift.
In-depth understanding of Kafka architecture and internals, including brokers, Zookeeper, producers/consumers, Kafka Connect, and IBM Streams.
Experience implementing IBM Event Streams on the IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I) platform is highly desirable.
Proven ability to provide IT security expertise and establish baseline security standards and policies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with the latest messaging technologies and industry best practices.
