David, here. I'm an old member, haven't posted in quite a while. Since
the group seems to have been inactive for a while, I propose this food
for thought, on the topic of identity since it seems to be so popular.
Think about this: in a world where technology increasingly becomes
more popular, do you think social networking among other sites that
allow one to identify themselves could create multi-identity peoples,
to the point of almost having a dissociative identity disordered
culture?

actually I figure we should inform the extraterritorial members of the SSPC that the group is still quite active in a more of the sense that we are now having more actual meetings irl, we suggest to those who don't live close by to start hosting meetings of your own where you live with anyone who you think would enjoy the sort of philosophy stuff of the SSPC.

As half a year of inactivity has passed, I thought it would be nice to
try to revive anything left as a last-ditch effort. Back to your
(probably forgotten) topic.

Actually, such a time where people are able to form multiple
identities throughout the Internet does create a loss of individual
identity for that person, but it does allow that person a diverse
amount of identities. Such a state is often considered a psychological
condition that is often feared. However, this situation has been
happening throughout all of time and even without the usage of the
Internet and social networks people have developed bipolar disorder
and other multiple personality issues. I have yet to see a case of it
developing through the usage of social networks alone but if you do
see a case, please share. I'm interested.

Everyone else, discuss.

Cheers,
Thuy
