Hi everyone,

Quite some time ago, I was made aware of certain covert activities by
the boys in blue. This was learned during my time in the motorcycling
industry and the source was highly dependable.

This 'source' spoke of his mate and 5 others that went on a typical
Sunday morning cruise through the mountains. About 1/2 hour into the
ride, they gained a "tag-along", as you do... and they seemed a legite
rider.
Legite meaning - newish R1, full leathers etc etc. So they stopped for
a coffee... had a chat with the tag- long, and then went back on their
merry way together. Then, as they got up into the twisties, they
started squeezing the throttle a little, as you do when you're on the
pace. No greater than 130-140 in some parts I believe [100 zones]...
and then, when they turned up at the next stop for lunch an hour
later... all was good, for about 20 minutes.. until 2 patrol cars
rocked up and fined them all. Apparently, the tag-along was an
undercover and was recording the whole thing via a cctv pinhole camera
in his fairning nosecone, and contacting his crew via a bluetooth
headset and mobile.

Not sure if this thing still goes on, but it may pay to be light-
wristed whenever you get a random "tag-along". Anyway, keep the shiny
side up. Live Free Ride Free
