So....my friend lives in Washington state...(or did) and to understand
the significance of what I'm going to say...I grew up in Louisiana (I
live in FL now) And lately, even before this, I kept having dreams
about Louisiana....and I don't really have dreams about
Louisiana...especially one after another...and I NEVER dream a dream
more than once (odd as that may sound)....and that was what was
happening.
Anyway...My friend who lives in WA...these songs suddenly show up on
her computer...that she didn't download and niether did her husband (He
has his own computer and they are they onle ones who live in thier
house.) So you can see why that may be a little odd, but...eh...no
biggie. The two songs she happens to listen to...are Gothic Girl by 69
eyes I believe...and Strange Fruit by Billy Holiday. Both of them
mention or are set in Louisiana....and I swear, this song, Strange
Fruit...is the most eery song I've ever heard...her voice is so
haunting in it.
Well...she sends the song to me of course...and she deletes them off
her computer...she said that after she listened to it once...she
couldn't bare to listen to it again. Well I listen to it...and it's
odd, because I keep listening to this song over and over again....I
don't know why really. Then she finds out that when she was little
(maybe 5 or 6 or something) She used to play this song over and over
and when her mom tried to turn it off, she would cry, but she doesn't
even remember the song at all, remember ever hearing it at all.
Then...I get the song stuck in my head....ALL THE TIME....and the damn
song starts popping up and playing on Mandy's burned CD when she and
her husband had JUST gotten finished listening to the CD in the car and
it wasn't on there. Then it starts to play on her computer, even when
she doesn't have her player on, even though she deleted the song from
her computer. She even sent me a screen shot where she brought the
player up and there were like....9 songs listed playing...and they were
ALL Strange Fruit.
So this song has been kind of haunting us for the past couple of
weeks...and not only that...but now it's playing in my dreams
too...wtf? lol...I mean...I can't really figure out why it's playing or
what significance it is suppose to mean. I mean...if you read up on the
song, it's suppose to be about lynching in the south....what does that
have to do with us, you know? I dunno...but...strange none the less.
*shrugs* Just had to vent about it...lol. Tell me what you think.
