Once again the Golden Text for this week's Bible Lesson, "Spirit",
August 4 - 10, 2014, has been corrupted by the use of words taken
from a version of the Bible that views Jesus as God, that being the
New King James Version.  In this week's Golden Text, God
is referred to as human, which is understandable if the version cited
from begins with the false premise that Jesus, the Master
Christian, is God.

When these mistakes appear it is important that those who
understand Christian Science theology point out this error.

Mary Baker Eddy differentiates between Christ and Jesus.
She gives this definition of Christ on page  583:10, of the
Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health With
Key To The Scriptures",

"CHRIST.  The divine manifestation of God, which comes to
the flesh to destroy incarnate error."

Mary Baker Eddy gives the definition for Jesus in the
textbook on page 589:16,

"JESUS.  The highest human corporeal concept of the
divine idea, rebuking and destroying error and bringing
to light man's immortality."

One might consider Christ as the message and Jesus
as the highest messenger of that message.

The Golden Text should elevate  the readers' perception
of God and not dumb it down.

The Golden Text is taken from the following verse in the King James
Version of the Bible which uplifts the readers' thought to God on high,

1 Chronicles 29:12-13, King James Version (KJV)

12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is
power  and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all
."

The Golden Text for this week therefore should read,

"  . . . thou reignest over all;"
