Hello,

We are looking forward to the World Cafe format for our next meeting on Saturday June 14th, 1:30-4:30 pm at the Grange (announcement to follow shortly).

In order to include many perspectives (at the limited table topic opportunities we have available) I thought it would be good to start this thread and solicit the diverse perspectives of this group.

Some ideas we have already for the topics include:

  • What are unmet needs/underused resources here?
  • How do we reorganize around locally focused finance and currency models?
  • What are the different types of systems available (e.g. commodity backed; LETS; etc.) and what are their strengths and challenges?
  • What concerns do you have about this system? What barriers are there to you/the community actively engaging?
  • How would you like to be involved? What next steps need to happen?
  • What medium of exchange should be used?
  • Who's on first base: Why are you here? And what are you willing to do?
  • Central vs. Decentralized / Managed vs. Un-managed currency.  (i.e. What is the value of an administrative body overseeing the development local currency?
Please reply to this email with additional suggestions if you have them.  We will try our best to include all perspectives, but again, due to the nature of the event we may not be able to include all recommendations.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation!
