Hi people,
Our weekend was great; attended a prayer breakfast & truly felt God :)
We attended a wedding after the breakfast it was awesome, nice rice, too much soda, met old friends who blessed my heart. During the wedding the thought of going home to do laundry and clean house never left me…so we were glad when the wedding finished early and we rushed home to clean & went to visit Cucu Grace (my mum…that’s what Xena calls her)
Sunday morning at Cucu Grace everyone’s too lazy to go to church so we all bum at home…Xena went off to visit old pals, I snoozed half the day and Cucu Grace made chapatis for dinner. Great day….we chatted and chatted and ate and ate and ate…..we basically cleaned her food out! Thank you Lord for mothers :)
Evening comes…as usual we are never in hurry to leave Cucu’s house; we take our time…Churchill show was nice…dinner was even better. Time to leave comes we leave happy to have spent a good portion of the weekend with Cucu. From Cucu’s house to Post is fine….scary sometimes due to lack of matatus at one point. We walk from Posta towards NPC (a trip we have done ‘a million’ times before at the same time); we notice we are all alone until we arrive past Hekima college then we see a guy just walking…..we hurry up and cross the road and then see 3 other guys from where we came from……and we hurry on; talking and trying to get home before the desire to sleep goes away due to the cold.
As we leave the main road into the “dark section” along the dirt road; one of the guys we saw rushes towards us; points a gun to my face ‘aunty simama’ & I scream out so loud….the gun’s still pointed in my face. Xena has buried her face into my clothes so she’s not seeing what’s going on. The other 2 frisk me like I’m hiding a bomb someplace…the take my phone (@Pat K….kinda thought later “it’s the high time God upgraded that phone anyway), my mum’s DVD player that I had carried to help repair, cash, Xena’s awesome beautiful bible….some other small things…but what hurts is the Bible…Xena got that as a present and it’s really cool.
Throughout this…..I upgraded from screaming to BOMBARDING THE HEAVENS WITH PRAYER….i literally started shouting on the NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY OTHER NAME OVER AND OVER….Long and short of it…they took what they took….went and we were unharmed through it all. I bless the LORD for his protection and even the ability to call on His Name when in trouble….I remembered Harry’s story of 2 people who were in a carjacked bus and as they called on THIS NAME they were not touched….The Lord is faithful…OUR JEHOVAH IS GREAT….WE STAND AS A TESTIMONY OF HIS GREAT WORKS!!!!!
Barikiweni tu sana…we are still very shaken…I haven’t slept…there was nothing to sleep….hour after hour after hour…started drifting off at 4am…and was up at 5am. I have just had coffee hoping to stay awake. Xena went to school shaken too…but she managed to sleep a few hours….
This GOD that we serve….how do you even thank Him for this kind of thing???? I am not even worthy of Him but yet He goes to the trouble of saving us…HE IS ABLE!
Psalm 23 played in my mind over and over again during my insomniac hours! Don Moen is very encouraging right now…”Lord I offer my life to you; everything I have been through use it for your glory…Lord I offer my days to you, lifting my praise to you as a pleasing sacrifice…Lord I offer you my life” I wouldn’t have it any other way :)

It happened at 10pm...literally 5 mins from our house. I am well but please continue praying for Xena...she is very afraid. The Lord is our refuge and strength. The tingly feeling in the inside still lingers but the Lord is handling that. Bless you.

That’s pretty cool because that’s her deepest desire too, that the person who ends up with that Bible had better get born again or it should find it’s way back to her. She’s doing ok,,,we are talking about it every chance we get and still praying for protection and peace.
Thanks a lot, I will get her someone she can talk to….
