Hmm….Shapo is off to an excellent start facing Sinner. Lost 1 point on his serve.  Can he keep it up?  His lefty serve is helping, but he is playing with controlled aggression.  Don’t keep he can beat Sinner in this match, but he is giving it his best.

Coco is playing better.  Hope she will continue to improve on the changes.

Muchova is leading Noskova in the third set,mwhich mught be finished at this point…lol.

Sinner broke back, and now serving to stay in the first set. Naomi bagelled Kasatkina in the first set, and now down 2 breaks in the second set.

Oh my!  The plot thickens…Denis won the first set, just as I thought that Sinner would take the set to a tiebreak.  Shapo is being more patient than I ever thought possible for him in this match.

I’m not even being optimistic about Denis winning against Sinner.  However, because he is giving Sinner so many different looks at the ball, with different spins, he has taken Sinner out of his comfort zone.  So Sinner is not playing as freely as he might, because he hasn’t played Shapo in 4 years.  Plus Denis can drive his off forehand like there’s no tomorrow.  He can also hit Sinner off the court, so Sinner is being very careful.

You know shapo is dangerous but extemely inconsistent .but is good to see him hang with the best at least for a bit.

Sugar…lol.  Stop that about Sinner.  Anyway, I’m so surprised at what Sinner is doing today.  How badly he’s actually playing in this match, and also surprised by Denis controlled aggression.  Let’s see if Denis can keep the break in this 3rd set.  Normally I cannot watch Denis’ matches live, but I wanted to see how he matched up with Sinner 4 years later.

Osaka was taken to 3 sets in her match facing Kasatkina, but she won the match.

Sinner now has this match.  He just won 5 games on the trot to take the 3rd set.  Denis lost his way in that set.

I don’t think that Sinner did anything wrong….given the level in his blood sample.  So it’s a nothing for me.  Shapo has lost the plot, and will constantly be second best….unfortunately.  Doesn’t really have a true Champion’s mentality.

Scientifically did nothing wrong.  Anyway, in order to succeed at the level of the big 3, Carlos, and Jannik, you need to want it more than life itself.  You have to be willing to suffer and be willing to go 5 grueling sets.  requires physical endurance beyond comprehension and extreme mental toughness, none of which is possessed by Denis.  Miss Vee has been smart to accept him for who he really is.

Fedex, I had no choice to finally accept that Denis will not be a GS champion, or hold a Masters 1000 title because he isn’t mentally as strong as the top 5 players.  Had to do it for my mental health 😂😂😂

I love watching him in action,  because his game is so wonderful to watch.  However when he tries to play with controlled aggression for a long period of time, he eventually loses the match.  He cannot maintain the intensity, and the suffering it takes win these big battles.

Morally he did fedix, sorry but I don’t buy it.money makes the monkey dance. I like the kid, he us second  favorite after carlos, but him and his team screwed up, you can put it the way you wanted , he has casted a shadow of doubt in many.

I just read on BBC news that Ostapenko has apologized for calling Townsend uneducated etc.  someone had already cited the fact that she may have meant the words, as not being properly educated about tennis etiquette.  It seems that is what she meant.  Taylor also had the same thought, and said she didn’t think it was racially motivated.  She said it was just about the L.

Anyway, as Osaka said, “ Ostapenko will never say those words again to a black person in America.”

Thanks sugar!  It has been a long time since I have seen Felix play so well.  He was really feeling it tonight….lol.  He had an unbelievable high number of winners.  Congrats to Felix.  Seems that he will be getting married shortly after the USO.  Shapo has been planning his wedding for this year also.

I know eh sugar?  Sek and I have been in despair about Felix’s passive attitude and behaviour in these big tournaments.  When he first came on tour, he and Shapo exhibited this fearlessness, which I loved seeing from them.  I remember either Fedex or Sek had mentioned that with Felix’s physicality, he should be playing a much bigger game.  We saw some of that tonight.

Btw sugar, I just heard on a YouTube video clip, Coco Gauff admitting that when she had broken down in court 3 nights ago, and was sobbing, that she had experienced a panic attack.  Whenever I hear something like that, I know the person has been dealing with too much stress for too long.  This isn’t good.  

I had noticed the hunched up shoulders for quite a while now.  She has been putting too much pressure on herself, and trying to cope with too much external pressure also.  I like her, and had become so frustrated with her awful game, that when she took these steps to correct her hideous serving woes, and forehand, I felt relieved for her.  Happy that it’s slowly working for her.

Miss_Vee, so happy for your boys. I get the feeling despite the loss, Shapo might wake up after that match. How many players have played that well against Sinner this year.

Now, FAA, what a nice surprise, so happy for him. and to put icing on the cake, Zverev is out of another GS. I think last year Fritz and Fils showed the other guys that Zverev has no heart. 

I did watch a little bit of Venus/Fernandez second round, Leyla is fierce.
