Stunned to learn of the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his wife today. I know that I’m aging myself when I speak of watching him in the 70s, playing “Meathead” on “All in the family.” I never missed an episode….heck, even watched the pilot of that ground breaking sitcom. Then followed his insane rise as a prolific director and producer of movies like, “When Harry met Sally; A few good men; Misery, The President’s men” and numerous other movies.
He and his wife met their deaths at the hands of his son Nick, who apparently had issues with addiction. Even as the news anchors said his son was a suspect, I wondered of those issues were part of his past or present. I was correct. Guess what I will be doing over the holidays….watching many of his films again….especially When Harry Met Sally.

Apparently Rob and his son had a love-hate relationship. I know Nick with the help of his dad also was a director but addiction often got in the way and seems like it culminated like this. incredibly tragic.
