Just returned home.  Was attempting to follow Mensik’s match.  Saw him in the 5th set, but didn’t see the conclusion.  Dayum!!

Just read that Jack Draper has withdrawn from the tournament.  He tried to return too soon and now says his arm will not hold up for him to continue in the tournament.

Tennis is a crazy sport, Ostapenko owns Iga, yet can't get past TT. Yesterday is when I realized Ostapenko would find a reason to pick a fight with anyone.

This bruhaha between Townsend and Ostapenko has really taken root, as all things seem to do on social these days.  People are calling Ostapenko racist and privileged, her comment about Taylor did not apologize for winning a point on a lucky net cord.  We have seen this play out so many times.  Most players apologize, but it’s not a rule….lol, which was in the statement later issued by Ostapenko.  Taylor handled herself beautifully when they shook hands at the net, and in her lost match interviews.  This too shall pass.

Sugar, it must drive you crazy to see tennis players carrying so much fat on their bodies.  As a young girl, I must have been between 100-110 lbs soaking wet.  I kept that weight until after my last son…..mind you, I gained weight during pregnancy, but lost most of it within a year….without vigorous exercise.  Considered myself lucky.  If I were an athlete, I know that I would leave no stone unturned to maximize my potential.

Missvee , you have no idea, it’s unhealthy , I know health comes in many sizes,but these ladies are elite athletes.i know TT has lost weight but she is still obese.Jelena what in the world happened to her, does she has an autoimmune disease ? Yeah, we have gone over that before.  FACT is she was sabotaged.  she did have forces going against her.  Even Davenport at the time pointed it out.

I guess that is the new standard.  To be fair to the judges, Pova probably is the first PED using tennis player to become eligible for the HOF.  Most of the other PED users (that I can think of right now), probably did not come close to having an HOF worthy career.  Or from a time standpoint are not eligible yet.  But with Pova entry the standard is set.  PED use is not a disqualifier.

Btw sugar, I didn’t even remember about her use of PEDs.  I tend to forget a lot of things that have occurred in the past.  I’m not a follower of hers…just an observer.  However, I like the narrative surrounding her friendship now with Serena.  It speaks to the generosity,  resilience, and transformative power of the human spirit when 2 individuals who were fierce rivals on and off the court, eventually realize that they gain no benefit in being rivals, long after they have hung up their racquets.
