In Mboko’s 3rd round match vs Tauson, I had given the latter the edge, but I knew Vicky also had a very good chance at the win.
Not going to admit that Vicky doesn’t have a chance vs Sabalenka.  If she keeps her head, she has a shot at winning this match.  However, Aryna’s experience at the top may prove a step too far for Vicky at this moment.  She may not win tonight, but I would love to see what she does in this match.

Mboko vs Sabalenka
Alcaraz vs Paul.
Medvedev vs Tien
Gauff vs Muchova
Jovic vs Putintseva
Bublik vs DeMinaur
Svitolina vs Andreeva

Alcaraz vs Paul might be the one since Paul is now healthy. He reads Alcaraz's game very well and has all the shots to match Carlitos.
Oh boy, has Medvedev recovered , it is going to be a battle.
Good luck Mboko, I think the journey ends here.
Gauff owns Muchova, no competition there
Svitolona needs to find a way to send this kid home
Jovic will get Puts

Mboko is nervous.  Sabalenka will push babies and pregnant women in front of a moving train if she has to.

The thing is I can't get behind these Ukrainians.  I get it the war is terrible.  That has nothing to do with the Russian players - Russians aren't celebrating Ukrainian deaths unlike Zionist pig settlers who revel in babies getting slaughtered so Israeli boycotts and refusal to shake hands?  I get it bc their people stand for genocide.  I get it if the Russian players said I stand with what Russia is doing but that isn't happening.  So yeah Svitolina, Kostyuk etc can kick rocks.

Too much tennis recently.  She could've won this if she were fresher.  Just work on that serve consistency.

I was hopeful that she could take it to a second set.  However, after she fought so hard in Sabalenka’s first game, and then Sabalenka ran away with it.  Once Victoria regained her composure in the second set, she showed what she could do against Sabalenka.  Same thing happened against Rybakina last summer. She lost the first encounter, but then beat Rybakina in Montreal.

Next see what happens next time she meets Aryna.

Sugar, this girl continues to impress me very much.
Fedex, I think you are right about nerves in the first set.  Look out world.  Mboko is now ranked WTA #13 in  live rankings.  She will be top 10, if she stays healthy before summer.

Miss Vee.I agree, Mboko needs to manage her schedule better and then watch out.  don't think she's ready to take over clay just yet but I expect big things during IW/MIami and then the summer hardcourt swing

I’m happy for, I didn’t give her a chance in this match but she played well. And also a thinker out there.she’ll be a slam winner soon.

I agree sugar.

Fedex, I wouldn’t give up on Mboko doing well at RG this year.  She was impressive last year, reaching the 3rd round after winning in straight sets from qualifying through to the second round.  She was taken down by Zheng Qinwen, 6-4, 6-4.  So she has game on all surfaces.

How the hell did Poots make the 4th round!?!? Jovic is having her way with her in this match.

Putinseva is absolutely horrid.  Esther Vergeer can hit winners off those nothing mid court moonballs

Fedex, do you guys see anything of note in Jovic’s game?  Obviously she has the results to prove that she can be good player.  She looks well prepared and is also a very sturdy player.

Miss Vee, I saw Jovic live at the USO 2024.  I saw a lot of good tools there off the ground.  Takes the ball very early but honestly her serve looks the same.  She basically plays like Emma and Genie to be honest but more pop.

Paul has the game to bother Carlos, he is like a pesky flea but Carlis will shake him off.

Okay Fedex!  Thanks, because I don’t see anything profound.  She is a very steady player, and not as error prone as Vicky at this point.  I think Jovic started on the WTA tour before Mboko, and has been climbing up the rankings, but not as rapidly as Victoria.  Anyway, I hope she continues to do well.  I was just reading that they are good friends, and playing doubles together in this tournament.

Fedex, I agree with you on the Ukraine-Russia thing. The Russian players should not be attacked for what their dictator president is doing.
The Ukranian players need to shut up and play.

Omg! Tien is putting the hammer down on Medvedev.  He has bagelled Meddy in t(e second set, and threatening to do the same in the third set.  This is pathetic.  I don’t understand why Tien is deemed to be so good.  One thing that I have observed is that he simply plays great percentage tennis….without a great serve.

Mensik had been looking impressive reaching the 4th round.  Remember he had beaten Djokovic in Miami final last year, or SF.  Anyway, he had to withdraw from the tournament with ab injury.  Damn!  Djokovic is through to the quarters…lol.

Andreeva fell to Svitolina tonight.  Girl didn’t have any answers in this match to Svitolina…yuk!  Don’t dislike Svitolina but I don’t enjoy her tennis.

I still see the comment sugar lol.  I never would've pictured Tien to be this successful.  I legit thought Adrian Mannarino lol have to pay attention to what he does well.  Just consistency???

I am done with Medvedev. I feel like Tien is the nerd out there outsmarting these players, calculating angles and speeds on each shot he makes.
Unless Zverev plays very aggressive out of his comfort zone, if not, Tien wins this one.

Sek, we like Danil we like his personality but honestly when I saw him last year in DC he is past his prime, gets very frustrated and can’t seem to bring himself back like he used to.i appreciate him but the extra gear  is not longer there , what is that say? the mind is willing but the body is not

Sek and sugar, completely agree with you both.  Tien will just let these dumbasses implode lol.  Perfect description about the nerd outsmarting the others.  And sugar, Rafa and Sinner ended megamind Daniil: 2 slam finals you lose being up 2 sets to love LOL.

Sek, I heard the comment that Daniil had said that he hates playing Tien…that Tien is such a smart tennis player, without having a great serve….lol!

Fed, I agree with you.  Everyone seems to think that Mirra is the most promising of the teens.  I don’t agree with them. However I think more tennis experts have their eye now on Mboko….some on Jovic also.  We shall see what will unfold this season.
