Tokyo is stacked with notable names. Rybakina and Bencic headline this tournament. Vondrousova is back, and will face Muchova in the first round…lol
Mboko will face fellow Canadian Andreescu in the first round. Darn it!
Fernandez will face Rybakina in the second round if she gets through her first round match. Darn it again.

Mboko took care of Bibi. Mboko was the one dictating.
Bibi looks to be in good physical shape but what's up with the moon balls. She seems confused out there.

I was hoping to see this match. Cannot see any live matches yet from Tokyo. Think there are matches scheduled for tomorrow night. Anyway, happy to hear Mboko finally has a win since Canada. Heard an interview from Andreescu about a month ago. She has lamented that because she is always struggling to return from injury, that she has no rhythm in her game. She finds qualifying now to enter tournaments very difficult. However, this is what she is now required to do. I’m hoping that she can play the final 2 tournaments remaining in the schedule.

This Mboko girl has the game to win a GS, that was clinical, she had her foot on Eva's neck the whole time.
I think the slump is over.

Sek, I just decided to check Mboko’s webpage, and saw that she was in a hurry. She demolished her opponent handing out 2 breadsticks 😂…..in 55 mins! Hope to see the video clips later. So happy. She will face the winner of Fernandez/Rybakina in the qrtr final. This should be very interesting, whomever she faces next round. Think Mboko has her mojo back.

Gal, she moves so well, and both her BH and FH are solid. Her serve is good too. Last night was the first time I really sat back and just watched her game.
If she stays healthy and continues to work on her game, she definitely has so much potential.

Vicky Mboko is playing doubles tonight with Andreescu. They won their first match together couple of days ago.

It’s Rybakina vs Mboko tonight at 1040 Eastern time, I think. I will not be able to watch this match. I would love to see Mboko win this match, although I know Rybakina wants to reach YEC in Saudi. I’m wishing harder for Mboko. She’s Canadian/American by way of Congo…..lol.

Wasn't able to stay up for this one, from the highlights, Mboko played well, Rybakina was just too good.

Bencic won Tokyo, and I thought that she would fold up her bags and racquets, and hightail it back to Europe. However I see that she is top seed in Hong Kong.
